Australia- Commercial helicopter pilot sees UFO following airliner

Report: UFO closely following jet airliner.
We were lying on the beach on a sunny Sunday afternoon, blue sky, few clouds. We were watching a jet airliner which had recently taken off from Gold Coast Airport on a northerly heading (possibly 3000 feet altitude).

We suddenly noticed something following behind the aircraft on the starboard side, at about a 45 degree angle from the aircraft, about 200 meters away (large passenger aircraft never follow this closely), and travelling at the same rate of speed.

We could not identify the aircraft following because it didn't have any wings, a tail plane or flashing lights. It was oval/cigar shaped and it was shiny like a mirror.

The jet airliner flew into a small cloud and then reappeared out of the otherside continuing on its path. The unidentified aircraft flew into the small cloud and disappeared, but did not appear out of the otherside of the cloud.
This event happened over a period of about 30 seconds and we couldn't understand what we were seeing. Unfortunately we didn't have a camera available to take photos.

I am a commercial helicopter pilot and quite familiar with aircraft laws, rules and protocol. The following craft we could not identify as any type of conventional aircraft.

Ireland- Triangle shaped lights sighted above the coast in Northern Ireland

I was hoping to catch the beginning of the meteor shower over the UK when I spotted a bright star moving north, very high above the eastern coastline here in Northern Ireland.

It changed directions twice and picked up speed. As my eyes focused more on it, I realized it was triangle in shape. After it finished moving in an 'S' pattern it simply vanished.

The whole thing took less than 20 seconds. It was a heart jumping experience. *(Wit's name deleted--SGonzalez/CMS). County Down

Brazil- Fast object seen moving behind TV reporter

I was watchin the news on TV and noticed an object moving behind the reporter. It was very fast. Sorry, my English is very poor.

I am sending some pictures taken from video and also the video link. The object can be seen at the time 0:54 s. It's fast!

The funny thing is that the news was talking about the position of the Brazilian Air Force on UFOs.

Canada- Daytime observation of fast moving, dark object

I do yoga in my backyard every day. It was a bright sunny day with a few clouds.

Holding one of my poses in which I was on my back, I looked at the sky. I noticed an extremely fast and dark object moving directly over me from South to North.

It caught my immediate attention as it did not move like a bird, was black in colour and was faster than an airplane moving across the sky.

From the time it took me jump up from the ground and turn around to follow it's path, it had already disappeared to the north in a cloud. There was no sound.

I stood watching the cloud/sky for a few minutes as it really was an unusual movement, colour and velocity (speed).

Within a few minutes, I seen it reappear to the left (west), move for a short duration in a straight line (east) and then appeared to move upwards into a cloud and disappear. It did not curve into the ascent but appeared to just rise upwards at a right angle.

It's speed did not change. It did not re-appear in the fifteen minutes I watched after that. I could not tell the shape of it only that it was black.

There was no glint of sunlight off it (it was a brght sunny day) and it moved faster than an air plane.

It's flight behaviour/speed when it was directly over me when I first sighted it reminded me of the way satellites move across the night time sky. Fast and smooth, non-erratic.

Winnpeg is on a flight path of jets flying east/west. This object was totally different than the characterstics portrayed by these flights.

I have no idea how large or how far away it was. I looked up the types of clouds that were in the sky and as far as I can tell they were the clouds that appear at six thousand feet.

I was sitting on the train coming home from college & it had stopped over killiney bay for 5 minutes. It was approx 4pm on a sunny, clear day.

I noticed 2 bright lights over the sea hovering. 1 going straight up about 50 ft and 1 staying over the water, both going up & down in sync & together up and down.

At first I thought they were helicopters moving at incredible speed. It never entered my head that they were UFOs as I never believed in them, until the bright lights went out.

I could see very clearly 2 disc shaped objects hovering about 10ft over the sea. They both rose up at the same time to approx 100 ft for maybe 10 sec then they both did a half loop and sped off in the same direction to the clouds at an unbelievable speed. It was inredible.

There seemed to be a haze / distortion that followed them as they sped off. As they were passing through the clouds, I saw a further 2-3 more objects follow them in a single line. I lost them as they went into the clouds. I was gobsmacked.

I looked around to see if anyone saw but everyone seemed to have their heads in books / phones or whatever. There was only about 10 people on my carraige. I felt shocked & moved.

I told my parents about it straight away & my mother made me draw the object.I dont know where it is now as it was so long ago. She wanted me to report it but I was too embarrassed. I didn't want everyone thinking I was a 'weirdo' and made up the story.

That weekend it was all over the Irish Sunday papers; there were loads of sightings, not just the one I witnessed. So I never really talked about until recently; now I feel ashamed that I didn't. It takes more balls to say something like that that could ruin your reputation.

This is my very first time reporting it. I have no pictures or evidence but know what I saw, this was not from this planet.

Solar Storms Have Arrived.

As predicted, solar storms began erupting from our Sun at the end of July, the first ones felt by Earth on August 1st, 3rd and 10th, 2010.  Not much occurred, except brilliant Aurora Borealis displays.  A few isolated power outages occurred but what can we expect as the solar storms grow in intensity?

The sun's eruption, which sends massive amounts of plasma and ionized atoms into space, is called a coronal mass ejection.  As a coronal mass ejection (solar storm) reaches Earth, it makes contact with our planet's magnetic field, creating a geomagnetic storm.  These Solar particles smash into atoms of nitrogen and oxygen in our atmosphere, causing a neon-like glow, the Aurora Borealis, that shimmering curtain of color seen in polar regions.

Fairly predictable, the sun's activity ebbs and flows in a cycle that lasts approximately 11 years. It takes about 5.5 years for a move from a solar minimum (few sunspots), to peak it's at solar maximum, (amplified sunspot activity).

The last solar maximum which occurred in 2001, was fairly weak and long-lasting but recent solar eruptions are the first signs that our sun is gearing up towards another maximum.

'The Carrington flare', the Great Solar Storm of 1859, was the largest single solar eruption from a sunspot in recorded solar observation history.  It burned telegraph wires all across Europe and America as Aororas lit the skies in so many areas of the world, that many people started their days in the middle of night.

With a mass eruption like that, what would we have to contend with today? 

With an eruption of that magnitude, all communications, computers, transportation systems and electric grids (which serve billions of people), could be shut down for days, weeks, even months.  It all depends on the size of a flare eruption ejected from a sunspot. This could effectively send us back to the stoneage, if only briefly. 

Many could suffer and die from lack of health equipment, air conditioning, heating and transportation.  Our banking systems would come to a standstill. 

Perhaps a few of the orbiting satellites could be powered down in time, however, the electric grids would probably be severely damaged. Unshielded, the magnetic field could cause computers and servers to crash.

All I can add is, be prepared.  Or ride it out like the rest of us, because you won't get more than a few hours notice.

I knew I should have built an underground bunker...

KSTP-TV people called me, asking if I had anything on lights reported over St. Paul early this morning (Aug. 10). They sent a cameraman, a respected photo-journalist out to witnesses location on Maryland Ave. He videotaped about a 10 minute segment of a formation of lights, five lights part of the time.

Witness watches as UFOs Enter Green, cylindrical "doorway" in sky

A Valley Springs, California resident claims to have seen mist covered green glowing cylinders form a circular pattern and then 2 UFOs pass through the "doorway".

Report:
I was sitting in my truck around 10 pm next to a 40 foot long aluminum storage container on my 3 acre property I had just sold. I was thinking about how I would have liked to have kept my lot but was buying out a partner on another house. I saw a flash of bright light and thought it was a plane crashing into the mountaintop where I was. I realized it was a series of glowing cylinders that was covered in a mist individually. The total area was twice the size of a house. The sound it made was a roar like Niagara falls almost deafening even inside my truck.

Their was another craft that was entering the 'doorway' it was gold/brown/yellowish and reminded me of a broken mirror. The craft was shaped like a rugby football. I only saw the front half of the 2nd craft I believe from the reflective light of the first craft. The 2nd craft appeared to be floating and as it entered the doorway they both disappeared. The craft was directly in front of a former astronaut's house which I thought was an incredible coincedence. I asked him about it later and he said he did not know what I was talking about but showed no surprize, amazement, or suspicion which I thought was a very odd reaction to the wildest story he ever heard.

I had been selling the lot and their were two dogs that barked at me constantly. but they were not barking then and I got out of my truck because I expected people to come outside to see what the commotion had been about but no one came outside and I am absolutly sure people would of came outside to see what the roar was about. There were about about 10 homes in visual sight. I think the dogs and people were put to sleep and the aluminim storage container made a barrier to keep me conscious.

I have seen 3 other craft in the area. 2 sightings were a green glowing ball of light floating at sunset along the mountain tops. 1 was a flash of light in a figure 8 shape 10 pm when I was playing basketball in the dark.
That only lasted 1 second but enough to see it slide as it tuned like it was on wet plastic.

I have heard other stories of sightings in the area and believe it is a portal doorway to another place. A pilot told me of some very unusual experiences he had but do not want "you know who" to question me because I believe they are very aware of this area. I did see an description on a discovery in the egyptian pyrmids that remined me of this doorway and she described it as a symbol for a doorway into another dimension. But I could not find her website later.

Red Bluff UFO Encounters, Then And Now

Many of you may recall, or have read or seen the accounts of two Highway Patrol Officers, who in 1960, in the small town of Red Bluff, California had a close encounter with UFOs.  The official explanation, "Northern lights, a weather balloon, and refractions".

Oh, good fricken' grief...

In this post you will read of those officer's 1960 accounts, a LITS reader's 1971 sighting and a more recent sighting that took place in the sky over Red Bluff, CA, on April 17, 2010.

Northern lights, a weather balloon, or refractions?  I think not.  Something is up there and we need to know what "it" is.  No more psyco-bable, no cover-ups, no more lies.  We demand the truth, we deserve the truth, we can handle the truth.

The 1960 Red Bluff, California UFO Encounter

The Red Bluff Refraction

Corning, California
August 13, 1960
11:50 p.m.

California Highway Patrol Officers Charles A. Garson and Stanley Scott were patrolling on Hoag Road, east of Corning, California when they saw what looked like a huge airliner descending from the sky in front of them. Thinking that a plane was about to crash, they stopped and got out of the car to get a better look.

They watched as the object descended in complete silence to about 100 to 200 feet from the ground, then suddenly reversed and climbed back to about 500 feet from the ground and stopped. Officer Carson described it in a police teletype report:

"At this time it was clearly visible to both of us. It was surrounded by a glow making the round or oblong object visible. At each end, or each side of the object, there were definite red lights. At times about five white lights were visible between the red lights. As we watched the object moved again and performed aerial feats that were actually unbelievable.

The officers radioed the Tehama County Sheriff's Office and asked Deputy Clarence Fry to contact the local Air Force radar station at Red Bluff. Deputy Fry reported back that the radar station verified that an unidentified object was visible on radar.

As they continued to watch the object:

On two occasions the object came directly towards the patrol vehicle; each time it approached, the object turned, swept the area with a huge red light. Officer Scott turned the red light on the patrol vehicle towards the object, and it immediately went away from us.

We observed the object use the red beam approximately 6 or 7 times, sweeping the sky and ground areas.

The object then began to move slowly to the east, and the officers followed. When they had reached the Vina Plains Fire Station, the object was approached by a second object that came from the south.

The second object moved near to the first and both stopped and hovered for some time, occasionally emitting red beams. After a time, both objects vanished below the eastern horizon. They had observed the first object for a total of about two hours and fifteen minutes.

When they returned to the Tehama County Sheriff's Office, they found that the object had also been seen by Deputies Fry and Montgomery, as well as by the night jailer. All described the same thing.

The next day, Officers Carson and Scott drove to the Red Bluff Air Station to discuss the sighting and to speak to the operator that had seen it on radar. The Air Force, however, now denied that the object had been seen on radar, contradicting what the radar operator had told Deputy Fry the night before.

The visit was completely unproductive.

More information regarding the sighting was obtained by NICAP(National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena) advisor Walter N. Webb, who contacted Carson and received a copy of the report, drawings of the object, and a letter from Carson.

In the letter, dated November 14, 1960, Carson said:

We made several attempts to follow it, or I should say get closer to it, but the object seemed aware of us and we were more successful remaining motionless and allow it to approach us, which it did on several occasions.

In the original report, Carson also mentioned that:

Each time the object neared us, we experienced radio interference.

Again, from the letter to Webb:

The object was shaped like a football, the edges, or I should say outside of the object were clear to us...[the] glow was emitted by the object, was not a reflection of other lights.

The Official Explanation

What was the "official" explanation for the sighting? In a letter to a NICAP member, the Air Force said: The findings [are] that the individuals concerned witnessed a refraction of the planet Mars and the bright stars Aldebaran and Betelgeux. . . [temperature inversions] contributed to the phenomena as the planet Mars was quite low in the skies and the inversion caused it to be projected upward.

They also said:

A contributing factor to the sightings could have been the layer of smoke which hung over the area in a thin stratiform layer. This smoke came from the forest fires in the area hung in layer due to the stable conditions associated with the inversions.

When NICAP pointed out that Mars, Aldebaran, and Betelgeuse were all below the horizon at the time of the sighting, the Air Force changed the star involved to Capella, which was slightly above the eastern horizon at the time.

They neglected to explain the fact that, as the sighting progressed, Capella would have risen in the sky, whereas the objects disappeared below the eastern horizon at the end of the sighting.

Officer Carson had this to say about the Air Force explanations:

... I have been told we saw Northern lights, a weather balloon, and now refractions.

… I served 4 years with the Air Force, I believe I am familiar with the Northern lights, also weather balloons. Officer Scott served as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. Both of us are aware of the tricks light can play on the eyes during darkness.

We were aware of this at the time. Our observations and estimations of speed, size, etc. came from aligning the object with fixed objects on the horizon. I agree we find it difficult to believe what we were watching, but no one will ever convince us that we were witnessing a refraction of light.

A check of the meteorological records of the area for that night by atmospheric physicist James E. MacDonald failed to find any evidence that would indicate the presence of a temperature inversion.

Over the next week, similar sightings were reported, including another sighting the very next evening by Deputies Fry and Montgomery that was also seen by a Corning police officer.

A LITS Reader's 1971 UFO Sighting in Red Bluff

Hi Sunny

I have read a bit on the UFO sighting in 1960 by goggling Red Bluff to see if anything is going on there and just noticed there was a sighting this year. Thought I would send along a little of what I seen in 1971.

I was working with 2 other friends in a restaurant. It closed at 11 but we were tasked to do some cleaning and painting until the bar closed a 2. We were underage but got the bartender to sell us a six-pack and needed a place to hide out and drink it.

East of Red Bluff was a residential area know as Antelope. Going through this on 99E a turn left would take you through houses, small farms then wind up hill to a spot where the road dead ended at a fence. This was called Hill 9. I believe this was maybe the road that would be moved to the present day Highway 36. There was a private road that went down to a house on the river at the top but  the perfect place for kids to drink a beer or make out. You would be high up on a hill and be able to see anyone coming from a mile off.

We were sitting on the road at around 3 or 4 in the mourning. A couple miles off and below us was a grammerschool with a Spanish name. On the edge of where houses got thick again. It had a streetlight or two.

For may 10 minutes I had noticed a light over that school that seemed brighter than it should be but did not pay much attention. The light was white and at some point there became a white cloud around it. When I noticed the cloud there was a smaller cloud off to the left of it that was dissipating downward sort of like dry ice in a bowl. That got my attention and we all started watching the light in the middle of the cloud. The Light did not seem much bigger than a street light but brighter. Hard to say but the cloud looked about the size of a movie screen and maybe 1 or 2 times the height of a telephone pole above the ground.

The light started slowly moving to the left or west out of the cloud and the cloud started to dissipate toward the ground like the first one. We were really watching now.

It moved maybe a 100 yards or more and shot northwest and upward to be maybe above Id Adobe Park across the river. I do not think it was to much farther out as it did not get vary much dimmer. The speed was amazing and it stopped instantly. Stayed there half a minute and shot south east and up and stopped again. Now it was very far away and very high. The brightness was down to a medium star. Stayed there half a min. or so when the light turned red. The red light shot across and stopped for a moment, began to blink. It was now so far out it was getting hard to see. The light then went in circles going up and south until it was out of sight.

A long time ago but I think this is pretty accurate. The speed was amazing. Like watching a falling star but having it not fade out, have a tail and stop instantly. The red light was very red. The time frame is hard to say. From the time it started to move maybe 3 minutes before it was out of site.

A more recent sighting in Red Bluff, CA

Cloud disguised boomerang shaped UFO seen in California

The Miners UFO Incident- Red Bluff/Brush Creek 1953

Red Bluff has been a hotbed of UFO sightings, beginning in early April 1953.  John Black and John Van Allen, two titanium miners, were working just outside of their mine near Bluff Creek, when they both observed a “metallic saucer” hovering over the mine area. 

The "saucer" returned on four other occasions, during the next few weeks.  On April 20, 1953, Black watched the same craft, which was less than a quarter mile distant.  It became quite clear to the two miners that the strange object had a keen interested in their mine.

Then, on May 20, as Black returned to the mine, he saw the same saucer hovering only a few hundred feet above the ground.  As he neared, the saucer rapidly flew away and disappeared.  When Black approached the area where the craft had hovered, he found several small five-inch footprints.

One month to the day later, on June 20, 1953, Black witnessed what he thought was a small child with a bucket, not far outside of the mine.  When Black approached, he saw that the large saucer had landed on a nearby sandbar.  Black studied the small individual, suddenly realizing it wasn’t a child at all.  Instead, it appeared to be "an unusual-looking small man wearing unusual clothes and carrying a cone-shaped bucket."  Hearing Black's approach, the "small man" turned and ran into the saucer, which then promptly flew away.

Black reported these events to the local sheriff.  From there, the story was leaked to the press.  Due to the apparent 3 month schedule of the saucer's appearence, a July 20th landing was predicted.  Over 200 people showed up on July 20, 1953, at the site of the mine.  Newspaper reporters, cameramen, saucer enthusiasts and local residents all prepared for the saucer's arrival.  The site had the feel of a circus, with snack bars, chairs and an audience, just waiting for a chance to see the little man in the "flying saucer".  Alas, no space craft, no odd little man showed up, bringing the excitement to an abrupt end. 

Several major researchers, including Gray Barker and Paul Spade (both jailed by the Brush Creek Sheriff’s station for attempting to conduct a UFO stakeout), have investigated this case.  Now it resides, as do many others, as a classic in UFO history.

Summary:    Taking pictures of storm and captured UFO.

Report:
My Girl friend went outside to take some pictures of a storm coming in. She took three photos right within 1 minute of each other. I will post all three photos as a time line.

The second photo has a faint circle in the middle of some rain in the distance, resembling the shape of the object in the third photo.

In the third photo taken just mere seconds later there is a prominent object in the top right corner of the photo.

The Camera use is a DSC-W80 Sony Cybershot, and the camera was set to auto focus. We have taken many thousands of pictures with this camera and never seen anything resembling a orb or strange object. I truly believe this object is real. The photos have been untouched.

She went outside to take photos at around 6:30PM. After taking the pictures she loaded them to the computer to look at in higher resolution.

She told me to come over and look at them and the object jumped out to me. She then was freaked out and started to call her mother to tell her.

Looking at the object under high magnification does not resemble any flying object I have ever seen. It looks like a oval separated by rivets on on the top and bottom of the craft with a glowing orange-red light in the middle of the rivets.

We have looked at these photos repeatedly now and cannot come to an answer. We are not sure what it is.

"Foggy" V-shaped UFO seen over Rowland Heights, CA, 8/2/2010

"Hello,

Last night Aug 2nd around 10:30 pm my friend and I were in my driveway and happened to spot a very faint v-shaped object gliding over my house.  It moved in a smooth controlled fashion at a reletively low altitude and blended in with the sky very well.  The shape was a well pronounced V and had a lumpy or foggy looking texture around the V shape.  The object was moving in a South Eastern direction over Rowland Heights, CA.  When looking up any other sightings I found your site and the hairs on all over me began to stand up.  This was one of the most freaky things we had ever seen.  The path the object took was straight and its speed was constant.  It blended into the night sky very well and looked grey in color with just the slightest contrast with the sky to make it visible.  The v-shape appeared lumpy like it had fog over it.  There were no lights on the object and it gradually dissappeared out of view.  Just knowing someone else has seen something like this certifies my friend and Robin and I are definately not crazy.  I just wonder if we were the only people that saw this last night.  If you have any other reports of people with a clear view of the object please let me know.  I am now intrigued by what I saw and will be looking out for it again.  I can only imagine it to be US military or something along those lines, but if not oh no!  If you can please get back to me on this.

"Hi Sunny, As freaked out as my friend and I were by this event I decided to look up any similar sightings online.  I ran across one video that looked exactly like what we saw in both appearance and how it moved.  If you go to google and look up V-shaped UFO sighting under the video tab, you will find a video of a craft above the skys of Sacramento during the day earlier this year.  When I saw the video I got goose bumps.  There is no doubt in my mind that it was the same type of aircraft I saw.  From the video the altitude looked about the same in relation to the tree in the right of the screen, the shape was dead on and the speed was very close to what we saw.  The one thing that bugged me the most besides the lack of lights on the craft was the lack of sound.  There was absolutely no sound made by the UFO and it as definitely flying on a controlled course.  I thought it may be some new kind of military drone that hasn't been revealed yet.  I am a skeptic when it comes to aliens, but it would be arrogant to believe that we are absolutely the only intelligent ones out there in our vast Universe. I will try to report the sighting to MUFON tonight and see what happens.  I can only hope that others saw it as well.  If you get a chance please look up the sighting in Sacramento CA and let me know what you think of it. ((Name withheld by SW))" My Reply:  It's difficult to extract much information on the object in the video, which appears to be 2 segments spliced together. I made a video capture of the object and zoomed in, worked contrast and levels.

Honestly, I don't know what to think, as I know nothing about the video. However, I do believe the Witness who contacted me.  He claims the object in the video is similar to his sighting and there is a growing number of witnesses, all declaring they have seen a "V"-shaped object in the skies over California.
