Location: Lakeway, TX
Shape: Sphere
Duration:20-30 minutes
Summary: 100 star-like objects gliding through sky like a flock of birds. Later stopped high in sky and took on constellation-like formation.
Report:
Saw 100+ solid white glowing objects that first appeared still, but in some type of formation: like a low-lying star constellation.
They then began gliding through the sky silently, moving in formation like a flock of birds.
They flew directly overhead, at a low altitude flying southeast to northwest.
After 10 minutes they made their way higher into the sky and again all took on a constellation-like formation and stopped in their places.
We stood and stared at them for another 20 minutes and they stayed in their exact locations.
Otherwise very cloudy sky-no stars visible.

ReplyDeleteFour of us saw 100+ white, silent lights pass over Leesburg, VA Saturday night June 1,2013 south to north between 10:00pm and 10:15pm. Each one looked like a typical satellite, all went exact same speed in straight lines. They came from the south tree horizon and continued north until out of sight.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. Did they move as one group, or did they move singularly or in clusters?
ReplyDeleteIf you have more information to share, please drop us an email.
My husband and I saw a group of at least a hundred lights in the sky on Sunday night, June 30, 2013. This happened at 11 p.m. The lights traveled east to west and were gone in a matter of 2 to 3 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThese lights were fairly high in the sky, upper cloud level, and moved at a fast past. The group seemed to swarm across the sky. The group was traveling in a rather loose round or ball shape. Near the edges of the circle there were lights that were moving in and out of the group.
There were also stragglers that quickly caught up with the group as they moved across the sky. These lights appeared smallish and they had blinking red, blue, green, yellow lights. These color-changing lights appeared to be like an LED light.
I have lived near the airport almost all my life and have never seen or experience anything like I saw that night. There was no noise. There was no wind, at least at the ground level on that evening.
I was so shaken; I placed a call to 911 and sent an email to the local television station. I thought for sure someone else would have seen the phenomenon but I cannot find any other report online.
Bluegrassgal, where are you located?

Just saw something similar to what people are describing here.
ReplyDeleteI am in south Austin, near I-35 & Stassney. Light cloud covering, perhaps lightning in the distance, slightly breezy, but otherwise calm.
While sitting on my balcony I was surprised to see what I can only describe as 'glowing' or 'electrified' birds (or something similar to a flying creature that flies in a bird-like formation) The formation flew from North to South and faded into the distance.
What I thought was a one-off occurrence happened at least 3 or 4 more times. Same direction, North to South and same bird-like formation. The formation itself was a loose string, sometimes in a more tightly coiled 'ball' but most often a string of 'glowing things' moving across the sky and then fading into the distance.
I thought that perhaps they were indeed birds/bats flying in the late evening, being traced by a spotlight, but the light upon the 'things' never shifted. Regardless of how or where the formation went, the individual objects were always lit up in the same way, never dark, never brighter.
Has anyone found out more about this? I've never seen anything like this. I am prone to being skeptical and I have been thinking about what this could have been in a rational sense, but of course cannot account for it.
I do not know if this thread is still active but I saw the very same thing described here in La Jolla, California on August 12th 2011. They were flying very low and all the only word I can use to describe them is energy, there was no physical form, like an aura. As they moved some lights within the cluster would come together and form triangles and squares and being to rotate in formation.
ReplyDeleteI saw the same in Portugal yesterday 11 August 2016, mear Lisbon. North South.
