UFODATA: New Group Collecting Scientific Data on the UFO Phenomena

For the past couple of years, a small team of scientists and professionals has been planning an innovative approach to the scientific study of UFOs. Our goal is simple: to build a network of automated stations with a variety of scientific instruments to capture comprehensive, scientifically valid data on the UFO phenomenon. We have named the organization UFO Detection and TrAcking (UFODATA for short), and several members of our team are well known to the UFO community as pioneers in the study of UFOs in the field, including Erling Strand, Massimo Teodorani, and David Akers. The project was conceived by and is led by Mark Rodeghier, scientific director of the Center for UFO Studies, and Alexander Wendt, a political scientist at Ohio State University.

Our website ( http://www.ufodata.net ) contains details on the technology we plan to use in our stations, a listing of team members (including silent advisers who because of their position do not wish to be identified), an FAQ answering many common questions we anticipate about our plans, and an extensive set of resources on the scientific study of UFOs and what we currently know about the phenomenon.

It has become clear that any breakthrough in our understanding of the UFO phenomenon will require a break from the past. Witness testimony, photos and videos, and government documents have taken us only so far; instead, we need to record and study UFOs directly, as other sciences do with their own specific objects. Of course, this is a daunting task, but it is made conceivable by advances in technology, software, communication capabilities, and power sources.

We believe that the current scientific, technical, and social environment is primed to support such an endeavor as UFODATA. We expect to build on the best work of the past and do what the scientific community as a whole has failed to do: take UFOs seriously and study them rigorously.

LITS Reports, Research, Investigations and Findings

You may be wondering where I've been and what I've been up to.  Well, the title of this post should give you a hint.

I've received a number of reports and with each one, I investigate and research, looking to find a clue as to what the witness might have seen. 

Here's a breakdown of just some of the reports and what I've concluded, thus far.:

Bright light in southwest sky (viewed for up to 1 hour).  Conclusion: Venus.

Bright Flash on horizon (Austin).  Conclusion:  Exploding transformer.

Several reports of Bright Object moving across sky in straight line trajectory.  Conclusion:  International Space Station.

Triangle of strobing lights (1 red, 1 green with trailing white flashing light).  Conclusion:  Airplane

Daytime video of cloaked, elongated object.  Conclusion:  Unknown at this time; still under investigation.

Transparent Orb with swirling nucleus.  Conclusion:  Unknown at this time; still under investigation.

I've also received several reports where the witnesses never got back with me, or stated they have photos, drawings, etc., but have never sent them in.



I read and consider each report.  If I have the answer, I will respond with the information.  If witnesses give me only a bit of information and then do not respond to my requests (answers to my questions), I must assume that the reports weren't serious.


Here are some helpful hints when you think you're seeing a UFO.:

If it is a bright light in the sky that seems to be stationary, yet is moving very slowly up from the horizon, or down towards the horizon, check a star map.  It probably is Venus, or a bright star, such as Arcturus.


If you see a bright light in the sky that seems to be moving all over the place, divert your eyes towards another point of light, while observing the object light using your peripheral vision.  If the object light does not appear to be moving when using this technique, it probably is just a star.

Never direct laser pointers at suspected or known aircraft.  If it is an airplane, you could blind the pilot and besides, doing so is against the law!

If you do see something that appears to be of alien origin, there is no sense in attracting it's attention.  Such acts can end you up in a bad situation (abduction, physical harm, etc.).

Never go sky watching alone, especially in a desolate area.

Take photos and/or video of the object(s) but be sure to incorporate surroundings in some of the shots.  This gives perspective and reference points.

Report your sightings.  When you do so, please specify when, where, what; how long the observation lasted; what direction you first saw the object; whether the object traveled or remained stationary; how the object moved and how it disappeared from your view.  Also give your name and a phone number where you can be reached and a time to call, just in case I feel more questions are necessary.  I do not post, nor share personal information.

When you see something you can't identify and you have checked your star map app (mobile apps are available), or checked the NASA Space Flight schedule, please report it.  I may be busy but not too busy to check out your reports!

Columbia, Missouri Cigar-shaped UFOs

I received a report composed by 3 witnesses who had a daylight sighting of 3 cigar/pill-shaped UFOs, over Columbia, Missouri, June 20, 2012. 

One of the witnesses contacted me and requested a report form.  Here is that report.

Shape of Object: Cylinder, pill/capsule-shaped
Number of Objects: 3
Flight path: 2 objects travel East to West; 1 object West then South and ascends into clouds.
Weather conditions: Partly cloudy

Witness report:

On Wednesday, June 20, 2012, my best friend (name redacted) and I (name redacted) were sitting outside on my back porch. All of a sudden (name redacted) pointed to two objects in the sky and asked if they were planes.  I looked closely and could see that they were not planes and that they looked very suspicious.

My first thought was that they could be blimps, but then I realized that blimps can't travel that high.  They were located in the sky but directly in front of where we were sitting at the time.  At that point, we went to get her boyfriend (name redacted), who has a lot of aircraft knowledge, to tell us what they were.

It was approximately 8:01 pm when this took place.  From this point on, we were all standing in the yard to get a better view.  The objects we saw looked like pill-shaped objects.  They were white in color and seemed metallic.  You could even see clouds reflecting off the side of them.  They were moving across the horizon faster than any aircraft I have ever seen.  They did not have any lights, wings, or contrails.  They moved from the east to the west.  There were no clouds in this part of the sky.

Those two objects continued traveling towards the west together, in very close proximity to each other, that they maintained the same flight path, at the same speed.

Then as we continued to watch, a third identical object appeared from halfway across our visible horizon.  It seemed to appear from no where but looked exactly the same as the other two.  This came to a great surprise to us and we couldn't believe our eyes.  However, this one went a different course from the other two.

It started out heading towards the west and then all of a sudden, changed it's direction and from our perspective, looked like it headed south in the sky.  This immediate direction change did not appear like something that modern day aircraft can do.  It was climbing altitude so rapidly, that it did not seem possible that it could be a plane.

The first two objects that were traveling together, had already disappeared out of our view at this time.  The last one disappeared in it's climb through the clouds.

These objects did not make any noise.  If (name redacted) would not have been staring directly at the sky, then we would have never known they were there.

This whole series of events took place in about 90 seconds.  It was daylight out and they were easily able to be seen by us all.  We watched them the entire time they were able to be seen from our perspective.  We were all in disbelief of what just happened and immediately documented what we had seen so we could keep the details straight. 

After that, we started doing some research on the internet to see if anyone had ever seen anything like this before.  We found a similar case described in Southern Missouri, near Nixa.  Then we realized that we just sighted an unidentified flying object and wanted to report it to someone to investigate further.

We feel honored to have the opportunity to witness these events but also felt that it was our responsibility to pass the information on.  I also asked all of my Columbia friends if they had seen anything like this on the same evening over Columbia via Facebook and never got any reports of anyone else in our area seeing it.

The Schulze-Powell track begins at 18:51 at the top right corner of the Brownwood MOAs and moves towards PCR Crawford. Although intermittent, a cumulative plot shows a definite track. Other interesting anomalies are present.

RADARplot is a freeware application. Recorded radar data can be stored in various formats which need to be converted before animation is possible.

Assessment and conclusion? 

People saw something in the skies over Stephenville, on January 8, 2008.  The objects appeared on radar.  At least one object made a beeline for President Bush's home in Crawford, Texas, which was and is restricted airspace.  And during this whole thing, jets were flying all over the place.

We all know that secrets are kept but...

LITS News, Cases, Investigations, Training and Support Group; Also Spirit Rescue International News - Volunteers, Anyone?

Tuesday night I received a call from a friend and associate in South Texas.  My friend had received a call from one of her witnesses, to go outside her home and "look up".  She did and sure enough, there was a triangle of lights, traveling over her home. 

A few moments later, the witness arrived and they drove to a location to watch for this object, or any other anomalies in the sky.  Sure enough, persistence paid off and another unidentified object soon made it way slowly past their location. 

I await this report.

I have also received a very compelling case from West Texas.  I spoke with this person at length and am sure that this case is a CE-4 (close encounter of the 4th kind).  The initial encounter left my witness very ill, not long after this encounter.  He has also been followed by a silver metallic orb and has experienced a humming, vibrating sound and heightened senses, particularly his vision. 

The witness' job entails that he have a yearly physical, one which he had 8 months ago, receiving a clean bill of health.  He appears psychologically stable, reliable and is very intelligent.

I look forward to meeting with the witness soon.  Due to the sensitive nature of this case, I will not divulge any other information at this time.

I've also been asked to investigate the untimely death of a witness, to a "UFO and possible alien sighting" in North Central Texas; also a case of missing time and possible abduction of a couple in the Houston area.

At this time I wish to make note that the Gunter, Texas case is still open.  I plan to continue on-site investigations, later this Spring. 

After a short lull in sightings and reports, activity has started to pick up again.  Between my work here at LITS and at Spirit Rescue International™ , I've been and continue to be quite busy. 

-Seeking Volunteers-

Both Lights in the Texas Sky (LITS) and Spirit Rescue International™  are looking for volunteers.  The basic requirements are that you are honest, have a desire to help others, have an open mind and a willingness to actually do a bit of work.  Yes, volunteering means that you will actually be required to participate.

To volunteer for LITS, you will be asked to research UFO cases, conduct investigations and submit reports.  This will require the basic tools for on-site investigations (a list will be provided), a cell phone and a vehicle.  Most importantly, witnesses are to be treated with respect at all times and aside from sharing information with LITS headquarters, confidentiality, maintaining the anonymity of the witnesses and particulars of the working case are a must!  No exceptions!

I will soon be presenting a class on how to conduct proper investigations (required attendance for all investigators) and there is a plan to host an abduction support group*. 

What is not required, is having seen a UFO.  However, if you want to learn, want to help with UFO research, live in Texas and are interested in becoming a field investigator with LITS, please contact me.

Recent Interview with Mark Rodeghier of CUFOS

1. Mr Rodeghier, could you please introduce the CUFOS, its set-up and objectives? Is the center working in collaboration with others American or foreign Ufological organisations?

CUFOS was begun in late 1973 by Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a professor of astronomy atNorthwesternUniversityand the long-time principal scientific advisor to the US Air Force project on UFOs (Blue Book). It is a not-for-profit organization that was envisioned by Hynek as a type of scientific clearinghouse and think tank for the UFO subject. The objectives and goals of the organization have evolved over time, but the most important are to be a reliable source of information on the UFO phenomenon, to do our own research on a small number of focused projects, and assist other individuals and organisations to do investigations and research that are rigorous and well designed. We have a small but select scientific board of collaborators, both in the States and abroad.


CUFOS has formal ties with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and the Fund for UFO Research (FUFOR) through the UFO Coalition, a partnership that has completed a number of joint projects, such as the Abduction Monitoring study, or the publication of specialized monographs.


2. What is your function within the CUFOS? Could you please describe some of your activities?

CUFOS is not a large organization, and no one is paid a salary, so my duties range from the mundane to the more scientifically interesting. My chief tasks are to coordinate our investigative and research activities, to correspond and network with our collaborators, and to help organize and maintain the CUFOS archives. From time to time I also deliver lectures or appear on radio or television programs as a spokesman for CUFOS.


3. You have been involved since some decades in the UFO research. From your perspective, how has the overall topic evolved since Mr Hynek’s period?

Many years ago, the UFO problem seemed more simple and straightforward. If there are unknown UFOs in our skies, then they will undoubtedly be aliens from somewhere nearby in the cosmos. This was before abduction reports, before more bizarre cases were well known, and before the phenomenon continued to evolve in its characteristics (see below). Now the puzzle of UFOs has only deepened, although even Hynek before his death had realized that something even more unusual or esoteric than alien visitors might be involved, at least in part (an idea that researchers such as Jacques Vallee had proposed for many years).   Continue Reading...

About Mark Rodeghier (Bio)

Mark Rodeghier has been President and Scientific Director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies since 1986. Born in Hammond, Indiana, in 1953, he earned a B.S. in astrophysics from Indiana University in 1975. After a year of graduate study at the University of Sussex in England, he returned to complete a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in sociology. His dissertation, Factors Influencing Attitudes Toward Controversial Research : Quantitatively Disentangling the Social from the Scientific, explores the attitudes toward the study of extraterrestrial intelligence by the scientific community. Other publications include numerous articles for IUR and the Journal of UFO Studies, and UFO Reports Involving Vehicle Interference: a Catalog and Data Analysis (Evanston, IL: Center for UFO Studies, 1981).

"I was plowing manure at my farm in Vermillion, Minnesota on 11/21/11 when I noticed what looked like fire above me. I put my tractor in nuetral and watched the odd shape move kind of back and forth. It had lights that were, idk, maybe you could call it pulsating or something, but the lights on this thing looked like flame throwers or something. It was wild! So after 30 or 40 seconds of watching this thing, I grabbed my iphone and took this video. The thing dissapeard shortly after that. I sat there starring into the sky for like an hour before I went back to what I was doing. Never saw it again. It was the weirdest, almost disturbing thing I've ever saw. Now, I don't believe in aliens or UFO's, but I have absolutely no idea what this thing was or could have been."

Extraterrestrial War of the 1930’s linked to UFOs over American capital

(The Canadian)-  Alfred Lambremont Webre documents that journalist and author Robert M. Stanley has assembled over 900 reported UFO and extraterrestrial sightings of the past 160 years in his book Covert Encounters in Washington, DC -- the largest assembly of Washington, DC-based UFO/ET sightings in history.

Mr. Stanley reveals in an exclusive August 3, 2011 ExopoliticsTV interview with Alfred Lambremont Webre that this record number of 900 UFO and ET cases have led him to the inescapable conclusion that Washington DC is a major interdimensional portal for an attempted takeover by interdimensional negative entities, including negative grey and reptilian UFO/ETs.

Mr. Stanley concludes that this negative interdimensional faction is aligned to attempt to prevent humanity’s evolution, and is mind-controlling New World Order (NWO) controller elites and institutions like the U.S. government toward this end.


What, if any, have been the messages of apparent relatively ethical Extraterrestrials?

Alex Collier claims to be among those of us, as humans, who have been in contact with relatively ethical Extraterrestrials. Mr. Collier claims that lower-dimensional aliens infiltrated our human time-space; then travelled back in time, to selectively alter human history. Our present therefore would reflect an altered state of reality produced from the regressive alien species that went back in time to perpetrate an interdimensional war against Earthbound humans.

Alex Collier is not the only Earthbound human who has claimed to have received messages from relatively Ethical Extraterrestrials.

In the book Extraterrestrial Friends and Foes George C. Andrews contains a very specific message from another human species that has apparently been seeking to warn humanity of the Manipulative Extraterrestrials and their “human clone vessels” which pursue an ongoing interdimensional war against intergalactic communities of human species. The alleged message originates from a human species called “Procyons”.

Dr. Michael Salla writes that Procyon is a binary star system about 11.4 light years from Earth. According to Andrews, the Procyon was flourishing until it became embroiled in sinister effort by the same Manipulative Extraterrestrials that Alex Collier links to an Extraterrestrial War that Alex Collier describes, that was apparently “wiped’ from human consciousness due to their time travel that affected human consciousness of events. “Khyla” is the name of a Procyon human described by George C. Andrews that transmitted the following message to warn Earthbound humans of the challenges that face us, as humans, as a result of the interdimensional war described by Alex Collier. Kyla apparently described the process adopted by “the Grays” in their subversion of Procyon:

“The Grays began to visit us, first a few as ambassadors, then as specialists in various domains where their expertise could be useful to us, as participants in different programs that involved mutual collaboration, and finally as tourists. What had begun as a trickle became a flood, as they came in ever-increasing numbers, slowly but surely infiltrating our society at all levels, penetrating even the most secret of our elite power groups….”

Khyla continues:

“Just as on your planet they began by unobtrusively gaining control over key members of the CIA and KGB through techniques unknown to them, such as telepathic hypnosis that manipulates the reptilian levels of the brain, so on Procyon through the same techniques … they established a kind of telepathic hypnotic control over our leaders. Over our leaders and over almost all of us, because it was as if we were under a spell that was leading us to our doom, as if we were being programmed by a type of ritual black magic that we did not realize existed.”

Dr. Michael Salla further documents in exopolitics.org that Khyla went on to describe the eventual take over of Procyon by “the Grays” and the enslavement of most Procyons that did not escape.

Dr. Salla elaborates on Khyla message that “using advanced time travel technology which involved ‘multidimensional consciousness’, something which the Grays apparently could not duplicate due to their degraded genetic bodies, a significant number of Procyons were able to escape and began a liberation war from the ‘remote corridors of time’. Significantly, the Procyons describe how some of their resistance techniques would be relevant to the situation on Earth:

“… it would be suicidal to attempt to fight the Grays directly with the weapons now at your disposal. One must be rational in attempting to fight back, and understand the proper way to proceed. I decided to video Jupiter, which appears to be about the same size, or perhaps a bit smaller than the object in the video.  Below is a video capture of Jupiter, as I zoomed in with a Sony Handycam with 60X optical zoom.

Please note that Jupiter is in our solar system and thus, much closer to Earth than any star.  What you see in the video capture, is Jupiter zoomed in all the way and slightly out of focus. 

I'd be redundant posting a photo of a star, as it would be even smaller.  Even out of focus, it doesn't look anything like the object in the photo.

Report:
On the evening of Sept. 19, 2011 - around 7:30pm, my wife, my little boy and I walked about a mile up the street from our north Texas home to an Elementary School so that our little boy could use the playground...and we could wear him out to get ready for nap time later. We spent about 30-45 minutes at the playground as the skies quickly became dark and night fell. We stayed a while after it got dark and decided it was time to walk back home.

As we proceeded to walk north down Church St., we noticed that the skies were very clear, as we could see many of the star constellations and took note of the little and big dipper. We noticed a few planes flying over in their normal landing procedure, strobes on as well as landing lights lit up - as is common in the skies above north Texas, with busy DFW airport to our south. I took note of an airplane coming in to my left (from the west) that I thought I would play a joke with my wife and claim to be something out of the norm. We got to about the halfway point between our home and the elementary school playground, again facing and walking north on Church St. when the plane coming in from the west was right above us. I pointed up at the aircraft and exclaimed "what is that??". I noticed she looked up as well and my son, of whom I was carrying (due to scraping his knee at the playground) saw it as well.

About a second after we all three were looking up at the airplane, I noticed something barely visible in my right side peripheral vision to the north east and quickly looked over for my eyes to focus on what it was. I noticed my wife turned her head to look at the object as well. At what seemed like the exact same time, her and I both pointed at this object that would not have been visible had you not been looking right at it - it would have been very easy to miss; we both said "what the hell is that!?!" followed by "are you seeing what I'm seeing??" - in a way trying to re-assure each other that we both were seeing this UFO.

As we both stared at the object, which appeared to be flying direct - from north to south at a constant speed and altitude, we both tracked it with our index fingers, pointing at it the whole time. The object was V shaped, however more rounded at the front - more like a boomerang, and huge in size that made absolutely no noise at all. Initially, the object looked to be similar in altitude to what a landing aircraft would if it were heading to DFW. As the object was near directly to the east of us (to our right), I quickly realized that this object appeared to be much higher, more like in the mesosphere...almost like it was poking into the atmosphere. I have seen shooting stars and have seen the space shuttle and ISS as they have passed Earth; the shuttle i have also seen re-entering. This was nothing remotely similar to these occurrences. This object was larger than any aircraft, blimp, flock of birds; anything flying for that matter, that I have ever seen. The object was unified and solid in shape, it did not change, it did not get bigger nor did it get any smaller or change direction and again was at a constant altitude for the entirety of the duration we saw it. The UFO also was traveling very quickly - from the moment we first saw it to the moment at which is disappeared to the south was about 20 seconds. What was so incredible was that an object this massive in size made absolutely no noise at all. Shaped like a boomerang, only the front of the "hull" was visible. The object itself had no lights nor emitted light. It was almost as if light was reflecting off the front of the craft so you were able to make out that something was there in the shape of a boomerang. The rest of the craft was almost blurred and the closest comparison would be like in the movie "The Predator", when the Predator turns invisible; you can still make out he is there because objects behind him are blurred.

After the object disappeared and we could no longer see it (almost like an airplane traveling away from you becomes so far you cannot see it), my wife and I looked at each other and asked "who is ever going to believe us?" As we continued our walk home, I continually began reviewing everything in my mind so as not to lose any detail. I wrote an email to my parents that night describing what we saw in detail to document everything. I also quickly started to seek images and youtube videos from the internet, trying to find anything close or exactly like what we had just seen. After searching and searching - most the artist renderings or images that I found were too V shaped, I decided to create my own rendering of what we saw.

LITS Investigations- Northeast Texas

Not long ago, if you had ask the witnesses in a small town in Northeast Texas, they would have told you that they didn't believe in alien craft, or extraterrestrials.  Like so many others, they would have rolled their eyes and snickered behind their hands.  But in the last few months their skepticism has been tossed aside and fear has become an unwelcome guest in their lives.

This weekend I will be on site, investigating this possible "hot spot" for UFOs., searching for the truth behind the numerous sightings in that area. 
I apologize in advance, for not posting any reports this Saturday (September 10, 2011).   I and another researcher/investigator will be busy interviewing witnesses, searching for trace evidence.  We will also be taking photos, video, audio, thermal and night visions images and scanning the Northeast Texas skies, for the unidentified flying objects that have caused serious concerns for the witnesses.

As soon as I have more to report, I will do so, so please stay tuned.

On Aug 23rd evening 10:17 pm I was walking to the corner store.I like to look up at the stars all the time. I figure that, Not alot of people ever do.Anyways, I looked to the NW direction ,the sky was partly cloudy and a slight cool breeze the temp was about 70 degrees.

I thought the craft that I'd seen was a huge plane at first, but it had no sound what so ever and the city lights you could see that it had a non shiny surface the strange thing is..it looked like a square not a box, but a messuring construction square. The lights looked so way wierd like the size basket balls 500 ft in the sky, and had another outter ring around the lights slowly getting brighter then slowly getting dim.

I stopped to look at it to see if it was going to move in some other direction but didn't. it stayed on a NW direction..Like it was flying towards Castle AFB. which is a Federal prison now..About 3 minutes later..I think these jets came from Lemoore Naval Air Station, because they were 2 QF-A18's Hornets / the Nationl Guard base near me..nothing was flying out of their..and the only planes that they have are QF-16's and these jets were hot on it's tail..

I waited near the store for over 15 minutes to see if maybe the craft would come back..but never did...

Box shaped object with green and red lights at lower perimeter. Moving East, low and slow over backyard.

I awakened to use the bathroom.  I went downstairs,turning on no lights, then returned to my room, upstairs, in short order.  I went to the window to look out at the moon and the Orion constellation (I often look out at the night sky before returning to bed).  The night was crystal clear and cloudless and I looked to my left at the stars and moon.

I was immediately distracted by moving lights to my right and turned and saw a flying craft unlike any I have ever seen.

It was shaped like a box,square at the front with rectangular sides and underside. The sky was very dark blue and the object was black against it. The perimeter of the underside was lined with lights,red and green (alternating),that sequentially turned on and off,giving a rotating effect similar to that of the lights bordering a theater marque.

This object was large and very low.  I estimate the front to be thirty feet square and the length ninety feet.  The surface of the object was absolutely smooth,featureless and non reflective.  There were no windows.  The lights circling the lower perimeter were numerous.  I estimate one hundred.  They were not circular but shaped like footballs standing on point and as large.

The window through which I was watching this object was closed but The left side of my face was against the glass and I heard no sound.  This was curious because this thing was so close.I estimate the altitude at about two hundred feet but heard nothing.  Equally as curious was the speed at which it was moving forward.  Maybe fifteen miles per hour and no variation.  Its motion forward and level attitude also did not vary.

There was nothing above the object holding it up and nothing below supporting it.  Nothing was ahead of it and nothing trailing.

The object passed out of my view over the back of the house and I turned,stepped to the center of the room, paused, and then sat down on my bed. Looking back, this inaction and loss of curiosity is out of character for me.  I sat on the edge of the bed for a few minutes, eventually laying down, and slept until morning.

Editor's Note:  I am presently working on a case here in North Texas, where the witness has recently been seeing a square shaped UFO. 
The witness has seen this object 5 times in one week.
The object stays low, traveling at tree top or below treetop level, with red/green lights on the craft.

UFO/Abduction Research Pioneer Budd Hopkins Passes Away

I’m very sad to announce that Budd Hopkins died today, August 21, at 1:35 pm. Budd had been under hospice care for about three weeks, at his home in New York. The combination of liver cancer and pneumonia led to his death. His daughter Grace Hopkins-Lisle and I were with him almost continuously during these past weeks. He was not in any pain throughout any of the process, and he received the best possible care and loving support from those closest to him. Today he gradually slipped away, and simply quietly stopped breathing. He died peacefully and without any struggle, with Grace, Grace’s husband Andrew, and me by his side.
Thanks to all of you for being such strong supporters of this extraordinary man, who has contributed so much to our lives, in so many different ways.

8NewsNow.com - Cattle mutilations have been recorded in all 50 states, but no one's ever been caught. Now they're happening in Nevada again, and no one seems to know why.

More than 10,000 of these mutilations have been reported on ranches all over the country. It’s a felony in many states, yet there's never been an arrest, yet alone a conviction. The mystery mutilators are back in action in northern Nevada, and lawmen there -- as elsewhere -- are completely stumped. 

Nevada is still cattle country, with more than 500,000 head scattered over the vast rangelands of the state. Even in southern counties, it's not unusual to see scenes reminiscent of a John Ford western. But when the sun goes down, death comes calling.

Seven times in the past few years, someone or something has crept into the fields of this ranch near Battle Mountain and has carved up cattle with surgical precision.

Lander county lawmen are as baffled as their counterparts around the country. They have few clues, no motive and no suspects.

“It could be considered rustling, which is a felony," says Lander County Deputy Sgt. Keith Altemueller. "There’s no evidence I have of what happened, how it happened or who did it. There are no tracks, no sign of disturbance and generally no blood. The cuts are very sharp -- very unusual!  I’ve lived in the desert all my life; I’ve seen what predators do. This is not what predators do.” 

Former state Sen. Floyd Lamb has been ranching in nearby Lincoln County for most of his life. Twice his prize bulls have been taken, cut up and dumped by unknown perpetrators. Several of his neighbors have also been victimized.

“That's a crazy thing," Lamb says. "I don’t know what it is -- take a bull; cut him up; dissect him. I don’t understand that. Some kook.”

A kook who can immobilize large animals without making any noise, slice them up, drain them of blood, leave no tracks, then disappear.  Nevada cases date back at least to the '70s.

During his tenure, beginning in the 1970’s, he was tasked with investigating mysterious cattle mutilations. After years of research he concluded that a clandestine government agency was responsible and that they used secret underground bases in the Dulce area for their experiments. Failed Test Vehicle May Have Been Cause Of Many UFO Sightings

Field investigators for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) are trained to look for natural or man made explanations as they examine each UFO case logged into their witness reporting database (CMS). And many wonder about currently unknown government aviation projects whisking their way across domestic air space masquerading as a UFO.

MUFON STAR Team Manager and Texas Chief Investigator Fletcher Gray is considering that one of those secret projects - headline news August 11, 2011, after its crash - may be the Falcon HTV-2 Project.

Reached in Texas this evening, Gray comments on today's news and how it may reflect on past UFO reports received by MUFON.

"On August 11, 2011, the Falcon HTV-2 project came to an end near the Kwajalein Atolls in the South Pacific," Gray said.

"US Military launched this hypersonic test aircraft sometime this month in California. Most of the reports that I read about this project didn't indicate a launch date. Reports from the MUFON CMS data did indicate that this vehicle may have been launched as early as August 9, 2011, around 10:40 p.m.

Seeking Witnesses in Northeast Texas - Report UFO Sightings

I am seeking anyone in the Gunter/ Dorchester, Texas area, who may have recently seen what they believe to be unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

Gunter and Dorchester are two small towns located south/southwest of Sherman, in North East Texas, close to the Oklahoma border and due north of Dallas.

If you live in the Gunter/Dorchester area and have seen a UFO, or have had any experiences you can't explain, please contact me.  I am currently investigating a report in that area and would appreciate corroboration, to back up the recent sightings.

Note:  Please report UFO sightings.  Here is how:

I can't do much with statements like "I saw some lights in the sky doing weird things, then they were gone."  You are going to have to be more specific.

Here are a few (not all) questions that need to be answered, in as much detail as you can supply.

List the date and time of the sighting;
How many witnesses and whether they are willing to report the sighting;
Note how long the sighting lasted;
Note where the sighting occurred;
Note how far the object was from you;
Note how high off the ground the object(s) appeared to be;
Note size, color and shape of object(s);
If any lights, note color, shape, intensity, how many (describe the object(s) in as complete detail as possible).
Include any photos or depictions of what you saw.

Concerning Entities (aliens, extraterrestrials (ETs or EBEs), ultra-terrestrials, etc.)
Did you see and/or interact with occupants of a craft, or entities on the ground?  If so, please describe what they looked like, how the acted/moved/communicated with you, also noting your feelings at the time.

Did you experience missing time?

Describe in as much detail as possible, your experience, what the object(s) or light(s) did: whether they traveled in a straight line, wobbled, changed course, hovered, or landed.

Tell in your own words what you were doing at the time of the sighting, what direction you first saw the object(s) or light(s).  Also note the object(s) or light(s) direction of travel and how you lost sight of it/them.

When reporting your sighting by email, please give your name, a phone number where you can be reached and a legitimate email address.  I do not share this information without the witness' approval and then only to the investigators working directly on your sightings report.
