Mailbag: Aerial "Orange" Lights over Abilene and "Christmas" Lights over Hollywood

Witnesses have reported seeing unidentifiable lights in the skies.  After two such reports posted here, I have received some interesting emails.  Here is just a sample.

The first email is by the man who reported the Abilene Lights to MUFON.  He has since had another sighting.  There is also mention by another reader, of a sighting near Mullin, Texas. 

The second email is from a young lady in Hollywood, California.  She apparently saw lights in a circular pattern, similar to what I reported having seen near Cisco, Texas.

Lights over Abilene

I was the one who saw those lights, we saw them again for almost an hour. This is 5 days in a row now. I had a MUFON guy contact me and he said he's seem them in the past (not this time though) on 5 seperate occasions. Something weird is going on, defiiitely not flares ..i'd say a 0% chance these were flares ..they did some pretty bizarre things that isn't "flare" like, I don't know of to many flares that come on in a row or a diagonal line or whatever ..of course the easy explanation is flares, but thats coming from people who haven't seen it ..gotta see it to know they aren't flares ..my dad has been watching them with me ..he's got 30 years in the Coast Guard ..he's seen his fair share of flares and he said "not flares".

I wish I could show what the lights did tonight, very very bizarre, I can't explain, I could draw a picture to show what they did. They've been showing up so frequently lately that I go outside waiting for them to show and they do. I sit out back on my porch and out of nowhere they start to show up. I really wish I could catch them on tape or camera but I can't I even bought a video camera just for this purpose and I still can't capture it. I just wish someone else out here would see them with me, all I have right now is a friend my parents. Im going to keep watching and reporting what I see but i've kinda lost interest in reporting because its only my report up there and never anyone elses lately. Kinda frustrating.

Christmas Lights in the sky over Hollywood

Last night I was driving in north Hollywood on Riverside drive and my attention was caught by strange Christmas lights in the sky passing over my head. It looked like a fan or half circle and it appeared to be whitish yellow Christmas wreaths flashing in succession. There was one white or blue light at the base. 

It was flying pretty low. It moved slowly over the Hollywood hills. Less than a minute later a police helicopter was speeding around the sky with its searchlight on.

I've never seen a craft shaped like this.

Now that I have slept on it I almost wonder if it wasn't mimiking the holiday lights that are currently strung on Riverside?

Anyway your story seems very similar to mine. But mine happened last night. I can't take my eyes of the skies now!

Huge Triangle Seen Over Marquette, MI Shoreline

Report:
My girlfriend and I were sitting on our couch in the living room of our home. We were looking out the bay window overlooking lower harbor on lake superior. We both noticed this very large and bright almost foglight looking craft going at a 45 degree angle towards the power plant. It was moving unbelievably fast towards the ground. We both thought it was going to crash.

Then as it got really close to the ground, it slowed down to almost nothing and leveled out. It seemed to slow down like it hit a pillow. It slowed to almost a stop and slowly cruised along the shore line. It was very very low to the ground. It had a huge bright spotlight on the front that was being shined all over the shoreline as it passed over. It looked like a flying wedge of cheese. It was a flat looking black, almost gunmetal. had a smooth look to it. I could see no seems or edges to it. It had a row of lights along the outsides of it running towards the back. It was moving so slowly and completely quiet.

If it was any thing normal, it would have fallen right out of the sky. My home from the shoreline where it flew over is about 3 blocks or so. We could see it very well and that it was extremely large. While moving with the shoreline, it passed behind the larger of the two smoke stacks on the powerplant at southbeach. It was lower than the taller stack, but above the shorter one. I have been told that the taller stack is approx. 3oo feet tall. That thing was about 280 feet up or so.

As soon as it passed the second smoke stack, it turned towards the ski hill or airport at ki sawyer airforce base. It was still moving very very slowly. The thing that got me about when it turned, was that it turned perfectly 90 degrees with out banking or slowing leaning or anything. IT went paralell to hampton street, which is only two over from mine. It was very low, it was flying up hill. Once it got to the peak of the hill side, it flashed off at ungodly speed towards the airport. It made no noise when it went from maybe a mile or two an hour to infinity in a blink of the eye.

I have saw what I feel is a flying triangle the size of a football field in length go right by. We were in such awe, that we couldn't look away in fear of missing something. Anyone else see this with us? would love to hear from someone!

Another witness comes forward on the October 23, 2010 Frisco UFO Sighting

On October 23, 2010 at 19:55 hours, multiple witnesses observed strange lights in the sky over Frisco, Texas.  To follow the story, please click on the links below.  They are listed in order, from beginning to most recent.

I just received an email from another witness.  He and his daughter also observed the lights over Frisco, on October 23, 2010.  Here is his account:

Saw your post about the lights in the sky above Frisco, TX.
I live in Frisco close to Hillcrest/Rolater and on Sat. Oct.23 around the same time you mentioned about 7:00PM my 12 year old Daughter and I were in the backyard of our house and watched these 2 star like objects up in the sky for about 20 minutes and they did appear stationary. There was also a 3rd star like object much further east that looked exactly the same as the other 2 objects.
They all appeared to be changing colors which is what caught our attention, since the other stars in the sky were just white.
We always see airplanes going to DFW and these were not airplanes, and I'm not quite sure what they were since I have never seen anything like them before.
There were passenger airplanes going across the sky towards DFW when we saw the objects and my Daughter said that we thought the airplanes could probably see these objects.
I mentioned it to my brother who lives in Denton and he has spoken to other people in the Frisco area that saw the same objects but did not want to report it.
I actually dismissed it until I saw the Steve Stoler WFAA story about it.
I don't want to come forward on record, but I can back up what you are saying and can tell you that the objects my Daughter and I saw were not Airplane's or anything else we have ever seen in the skies!
These objects stood out in the sky like a sore thumb and I am certain that there are many other people who witnessed them that just don't want to come forward and talk about it.

Man wants to know if that was a USO/UFO and not a missile

Mystery Missile launched off the coast of California.

What was that mysterious missile launched 35 miles west of Los Angeles, north of catalina Island?  The Pentagon says it was probably an airplane. 

Probably?  Oh, good grief.

A man posts a query to MUFON and others, could that have been a USO/UFO accident? 

I suppose anything is possible, J.C., especially when even NORAD doesn't have a clue as to what it was.

I believe the recent "Mystery Missle" filmed off Los Angeles, and known to have originated appoximatly 35 miles north of Catalina Island, from the sea, that this should be investigated as a USO takeoff accident caught on film. Especially considering the Governments having no knowledge of what it was, especially NORAD. ...its just scary!

ABC news has a video clip which near the end also shows flickering green/yellow/red lights----no rocket has this, There is also the consideration when looking at the con trail, that it also seems "spiralling", as if the object creating it were doing barrel rolls or similarI wanted to express my thoughts, and inspire some investigation.

UFO causes shut-down of airport in Mongolia

Tucson Citizen-  Reports from People’s Daily Online and Shanghai Daily confirm these reports from the news outlet Dbw.cn. The airport in Baotou in Inner Mongolia was forced to delay the landing of three planes originating from Shanghai and Beijing. The airport was shutdown for nearly an hour, due to the appearance of an unidentified flying object.

According to reports, the object was seen hovering about four kilometers east of the Baotou airport at 8pm, with the three planes diverted for safety reasons.

China’s Xiaoshan Airport was also shutdown for about an hour earlier this year, on July 7th, due to a UFO.





People's Daily Online- Workers at the Hohhot Air Traffic Management Bureau observed with instruments an unidentified flying object (UFO) 40 kilometers east of Baotou, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at 8 p.m. on Sept. 11.

"The airport received a notice from the Hohhot Air Traffic Management Bureau about the appearance of an UFO. To guarantee security, the aircraft heading for the airport had to land at secondary airports. Otherwise, it may have led to collisions," said Ms. Luo, from the Baotou Airport.

Around 9:14 p.m., three flights from Beijing and Shanghai to Baotou were delayed, and the aircraft were forced to circle in the air while waiting to land.

Furthermore, the Air China Flight 1107 from Beijing to Baotou landed at the Erdos Airport and the Juneyao Airlines Flight 1137 from Shanghai to Baotou landed at the Taiyuan Airport.

Note: On August 24, 2010, a Chinese airliner broke apart in the woods just two km ahead of the runway in Yichun, a remote forest-surrounded city in China''s northeast Heilongjiang Province, killing 42 passengers and injuring 54 others.  No word yet, as to the cause of the crash.
It was China''s first major air disaster since a China Eastern Airlines jet crashed in Baotou City in Inner Mongolia in November 2004, killing 53 people on board, including two people on the ground.
UFO interference?  Who knows.  Perhaps the Captain (of the recent crash) who has survived, may soon shed light on the cause. -SW

Possible UFO Crash in Fresno, California creates quite a buzz

Word is, that on August 21, 2010, a triangular or string ray-shaped UFO has crashed on the side of a hill near Fresno, California. 

Jeff Gonzalez received a call to MUFON's 24 hour hotline and with camera in hand, rushed to the scene, or at least as close as he could get, some 3 miles from the actual crash site.  What he saw and recorded remains unclear but something occurred on the side of that hill and mainstream media has apparently been silent on the matter.

Is our government waging a silent war against extraterrestrial space craft, or are the sightings of UFOs being shot at by military aircraft simply 'war maneuvers'?

UFO Crash Reported Live from California

Unexplainable.net- UFO reports have been taking a dramatic turn lately with more witnesses describing events related to a sort of conflict between military forces and large black triangular craft.  Such craft were seen in Canada earlier this week allegedly being fired upon by helicopters and another was spotted near Fresno California crashed into the side of a mountain with military vehicles quickly surrounding it.  What uncertainty does this bear for the future?

When MUFON's Jeffrey Gonzalez received a phone call on MUFON's 24 hour hotline, what he heard sounded at first like one of the most historically significant UFO sightings since the Roswell incident, but carried with it a far more sinister undertone given other recent sightings of human conflict with these mysterious craft.

With witnesses screaming in the background, "It's trying to take off, it's trying to lift!"  Mr. Gonzalez learned that witnesses had seen a black triangular craft crashed into the side of a mountain at the location just north of Fresno.  Wasting no time, Gonzalez sprang into action and arrived at the scene where the witnesses had called from.  What he observed were three white lights coming from the hillside and several vehicles descending on the object through the rough terrain.  From his position on the mountain he then witnessed a light similar to an arc welder used to cut through metal and in automobile production.  Gonzalez speculates that the craft may have been undergoing repairs or being torn through by the welders in order to transport it in more easy to manage pieces.  By the light of day the investigator left behind reported seeing a peculiar stingray shaped vessel in front of an abandoned shack on the mountain accompanied by two massive burn marks on the hill.

If there is a conflict ongoing between military forces and these mysterious triangular aircraft several questions need to be addressed.  First, what is the nature of the conflict?  Is it a serious assault or could they possibly be part of some sort of clandestine training program or war game scenario?  Second, if the craft are not part of the US military and the conflict is as genuine as many witnesses are suggesting, what purpose do the triangular craft serve and who are their occupants?  Of course this is even assuming they have occupants.  And of course the most general and possibly most important question that is ever present remains, what are the craft doing?

The scene described has two possible scenarios that could lead up to it, and either one without additional disputing evidence seems at least possible at this point.  Either one, the craft was a test vehicle that underwent some sort of malfunction and was grounded for some reason, or two it was actually engaged in some sort of mission.  And if the second scenario is true, what happened to the occupants of the craft?  And will there be more looking for them soon?  Perhaps the most disturbing bit of evidence suggesting the second scenario might be true comes in the form of the witness testimony overheard by Gonzalez, "It's trying to take off, it's trying to lift!"  Unless it was in possibly hostile territory, why would it risk exposure and further malfunctions by trying to take off so quickly after having crashed rather than wait for assistance from the ground?

Report:    I didn't see it till it was too late.
All I know that it was a round shaped looking object and it was on a route in Sierraville in the middle of nowhere. I was driving after my friends left at around 1am and I had no idea why but I wanted to drive to Sierraville. There is nothing in Sierraville but farm land that is surrounded by mountains in a valley. I didn't even see it coming. All I know is that it appeared almost overhead of me and I saw a blinding light which caused me to stop. My car stalled but probably because I drive stick shift and stalled. Problem is that I couldn't start up again and I quickly looked at the clock and it read around 4:01am. And that's all I remember. I remember waking up and seeing that time was 4:18am. I lost 17 minutes. I doubt I was abducted but noticed that there was a house nearby. I think I was a witness to an abduction over there. I have no injuries or strange things poking around my neck or nose. But I can tell you that I was unconscious for 17 minutes. When I got home back to Truckee I went to bed and now when I think about it, I don't even know how I got home. I can recall all driving routes that I always take but this time I have forgotten. I'm going back out there but this time armed with cameras and a crew.

First, my apologize for my poor English.

Last Monday August 16, I was looking at the pictures I have recorded in my cell phone, a 2 megapixel Motorola Rokr E8.I was scary of what I found,4 pictures I have no idea where they were taken. So I transfer these pictures to my laptop and opened properties than details,so I found that the 4 pictures were taken betwen 18:32- 18:34pm of Saturday August 14 2010.

I remember exactly what I was doing by that time. I was at home with my wife cooking.

I want to make clear that I am not a super fan about the UFO subject but I try to keep myself up to date with the topic becouse I find it very interesting and possible to be real. The pictures I found in my cell phone are very strange, it appears that they were taken out of focus for some reason, if you turn the angle at 360 you will be able to see what seems to be a face or something else at pictures moto 1360 and 1361, and the picture moto 1359 a strange place is shown.

I dont want to think that I was adbucted or something like that, it is to unreal for my mind to accept it. I have a life as well as a family and I will not talk about these pictures with anybody. I am very disturbing about what I think I saw.

Please I beg you to analise these pictures and give me a answer about what you think these pictures are. I say again, I have no single idea were the pictures were taken from.

Solar storms make it to Earth

Solar Storms Have Arrived.

As predicted, solar storms began erupting from our Sun at the end of July, the first ones felt by Earth on August 1st, 3rd and 10th, 2010.  Not much occurred, except brilliant Aurora Borealis displays.  A few isolated power outages occurred but what can we expect as the solar storms grow in intensity?

The sun's eruption, which sends massive amounts of plasma and ionized atoms into space, is called a coronal mass ejection.  As a coronal mass ejection (solar storm) reaches Earth, it makes contact with our planet's magnetic field, creating a geomagnetic storm.  These Solar particles smash into atoms of nitrogen and oxygen in our atmosphere, causing a neon-like glow, the Aurora Borealis, that shimmering curtain of color seen in polar regions.

Fairly predictable, the sun's activity ebbs and flows in a cycle that lasts approximately 11 years. It takes about 5.5 years for a move from a solar minimum (few sunspots), to peak it's at solar maximum, (amplified sunspot activity).

The last solar maximum which occurred in 2001, was fairly weak and long-lasting but recent solar eruptions are the first signs that our sun is gearing up towards another maximum.

'The Carrington flare', the Great Solar Storm of 1859, was the largest single solar eruption from a sunspot in recorded solar observation history.  It burned telegraph wires all across Europe and America as Aororas lit the skies in so many areas of the world, that many people started their days in the middle of night.

With a mass eruption like that, what would we have to contend with today? 

With an eruption of that magnitude, all communications, computers, transportation systems and electric grids (which serve billions of people), could be shut down for days, weeks, even months.  It all depends on the size of a flare eruption ejected from a sunspot. This could effectively send us back to the stoneage, if only briefly. 

Many could suffer and die from lack of health equipment, air conditioning, heating and transportation.  Our banking systems would come to a standstill. 

Perhaps a few of the orbiting satellites could be powered down in time, however, the electric grids would probably be severely damaged. Unshielded, the magnetic field could cause computers and servers to crash.

All I can add is, be prepared.  Or ride it out like the rest of us, because you won't get more than a few hours notice.

Blue Humming Light Reported Near A Home In Florida

This is a report to MUFON, by a witness in Gainesville, Florida, of a bright blue, humming light seen during a storm on June 25, 2010.
Was it what is known as ball lightning, or was it something else?

Report:
Let me first start by saying I didn't know whether to post this on MUFON as I'm really not sure it's characteristic of a typical sighting.

We were experiencing a typical Florida downpour with some occasional thunder and lightning, but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm not really sure whether we had lost power at this point as things got a little out of the ordinary.

I was sitting in our living room with my family and we all heard a loud humming noise that carried with it a certain vibration indicative of a powerful energy source. It sounded like a transformer humming, but much, much louder. The sound lasted about 10 seconds and happened 3 or 4 times and was coming from what seemed to be directly outside the south side of our house.

Our house is nowhere near a transformer. From where we sat during this, we were two rooms away from the exterior of the south side of our house, about 30 feet away. As the humming noise began again, I finally decided to walk to a room closer to the sound.

Keep in mind it's summer around 6:45pm, so there was plenty of light outside, even though the storm had darkened it a bit. This room has blinds on the windows and as I approached the window the humming was still happening, but what was so odd, and the main reason for me posting this is, even with it being daylight, a bright bluish, neon looking light was being generated somewhere very close to the exterior of our house with such an intensity that it overpowered the natural light and created a bluish glow that shined through the cracks in the window blinds.

It's almost as if it was dark outside and a car pulled up outside the window, shining it's headlights into the window. I pulled the blinds to the side and saw a powerful blue glow coming from the side of my house. The window I viewed it from did not have a direct view of the light source, but I did see it emanating around the corner.

My house is a couple hundred feet from power lines, but they are in the opposite direction from where the light was coming from. Looking out the south facing window, the power lines are approximately 200 feet to the west and this light was definitely coming from the south east side of my house. The light source appeared to be generated within feet of the exterior of my house and couldn't have been more than 5 feet off the ground.

There were no lightning strikes taking place while the humming noise and lights occurred, so I know it wasn't lightning. We don't have a transformer next to our house. The only thing over there is my AC unit.

After the storm passed, I walked out there and there was no evidence anything had happened, and my AC was undamaged.

I've lived in Florida most of my life and have seen some serious storms, but never, never have I seen a sustained blue glowing light shine through my window. With the amount of energy it must have taken to generate that light, I expected to either have major electrical damage or at least have black marks on my house, but there was nothing.

By far one of the oddest experiences I've ever had.

Shine on, Hyperion

A report was submitted to MUFON, not of a UFO sighting or an alien abduction, but of a green light seen on the surface of one of Saturn's moons, Hyperion.  Apparently the original photo has been manipulated and the 'green light' has been removed. Hmm...

Here is that report, from an astute observer in Texas:

MUFON Case # 23389

Please forward to someone that is truly interested.  Reference NASA's "Feast for the Eyes", Saturn. 

The Moon Hyperion has a bright incandescent light, visible on the surface.  Place a cross hair on the moon, top right-hand quadrant, approximately 20 degrees, close to the center line.

There is a bright incandescent green light on the surface.  Original picture frame PIA 07740.jpg showed the light clearly, if you zoom in approximately 200%.

The current picture has a circular area where the light is but the coloring has been removed.  I have the original on my laptop, with the light, should you be interested.

Not a UFO but whatever it is, it is not natural.  The moon is gray. Tom Young

Hello, My Name is Paul E. I'm writing this because I have witnessed an event that I would like to share. I will be holding back some of what I witnessed so I can verify if anyone else has seen what I saw.

It was Late November, 2009. It had just turned dark outside. I was sitting in our back screen room. When I saw a small blinking light about 8 feet away in the grass.

My first thought was it was a lightning bug, but I live in Tampa Florida and I have not seen one since I moved here in 1984. I also noticed that this light was Bright White not yellow, as is a lightning bug.

The flash duration was about one second on , 5 seconds off. And as I watched it was moving toward where I was sitting. I tried to figure out what was causing this, looking around for anything that might be reflecting off of something in the grass. But as I watched, it just kept flashing and moving in what would be slightly to my left.

As It came closer, lets say about 6 feet away I still could not make out what it was. I stood up and moved to the corner edge of my screen room (where our dog had tore the screen) and leaned out looking down. I was at this time only about 3 feet from the light when it stop flashing and began to get brighter and brighter.

Baffeled at what was happening. I stared at this thing that began to roll around like it had flat sides on it. I still could not make out any shape to the object. I leaned down as close as I could without falling trying to see something, As I did this, it began to vibrate very fast. So Here I am Leaning out of our screen room watching as a very bright, very small (maybe 1 quarter of an inch) light no more than 36 inches from me.

I didn't know what to think, then (here's the good part) I could see some kind of a square outline in the middle of the light, and then all of a sudden it shot up into some type of a portal within maybe 4 inches off the ground, and it was GONE. Needless to say I could not believe what I had just witnessed. Because the portal (lack of anything else to call it) slowly dissolved. Dripping some sort of metal like fluid. Which dispersed before hitting the ground (This is where I am going to hold something back.)

Since this happen, I was consumed by what had happen, so much so I had to try and draw this, And I didn't do that well. I have attached a low res file.

MY QUESTION TO YOU. Craft, Entity or device? And where the heck did it go? Has anything like this been reported before? PS. One more thing, scifi shows do not do this justice.

Iceland's Erupting Volcano Attracts UFOs

Iceland's erupting volcano has attracted the attention of more than mere scientists and photographers.

Since the first belch in March, 2010 of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland, there has been an increase in UFO activity over Europe. Here are some UFOs that were caught on video.

European flights are basically at a standstill but that doesn't seem to bother the UFOs, as they plunge into the billowing smoke and ash. Perhaps "they" are loading up on one or all of the many released gases, such as Carbon dioxide, Sulfur dioxide, Chlorine, or Florine.

This latest catastrophe is a prime example of the attraction that these objects (UFOs) seem to have towards natural disasters.

As for the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, it continues to erupt, sending hot ash and smoke up to 20,000 ft., which will eventually spread across the globe. To those who have fretted over global warming, take a deep breath now... please!

Several brilliant flashes of light concern neighbors in North Carolina

What could have caused the brilliant flashes of light, power failure and odd animal behavior in the small town of Fuquay, North Carolina?  Read the details of this report, below.

Summary:    Did not actually see a craft, however I did see a very scary flash of bright light 4-5 times that was blinding

Report:
At 3:13 AM eastern time I was awakened by the 4-5 brightest flashes I have ever encountered. I thought lightning had struck my home because it was so intense, but I never heard a sound (thunder).

Following this extreme flash that resembled the intensity of a Arc Welder I proceeded outside to see if I could observe anything obvious. I walked outside and this strange feeling was surrounding me. There was absolutely "Zero Wind" it was not raining, so I knew it could not have been a lighting strike.

I went across the street to my neighbors house as I noticed she was lighting candles in her house for light. All power was gone, and I knew it was not a transformer blowing up as it could not do this 4-5 times. She also did not feel normal and this is why she also awakened.

We turned on her battery operated radio and could not get any signal for any stations - just white noise. She also had a XM radio and this picked up stations. Our Cell phones also would not get a signal. We both decided to get in the car and take a drive just to see if anyone had been in a car wreck and hit a power line.

We both jointly commented at the same time of the eerie animal behavior. I have never seen so many animals walking around as stunned as we were.

After driving for a while and not seeing anything we decided to call authorities in case someone had run into something and needed help. The operator had no reportings of power outages and accidents. This was approx 15-20 min after the sighting. Our radios and cell phones by this time were working in the car and power was still out.

When we got back to our neighbor hood and proceeded to go back inside we heard a strange deep whistling noise in the sky. After the sound had left power was restored.

My neighbors solar cell system is not working and the intense light overloaded her electrical system. The company that came out to repair said they had never seen anything like this.

Note:  Could this incident have been cause by some type of craft, or could it have been several electrical transformers arcing in sequence?
