DFW area resident reports seeing a strange light in the sky

I just received an emailed report from a North Central Texas resident, who witnessed a strange light moving through the sky.  Here is that report:



January 11, 2011,  04:45
NW of Dallas/Ft. Worth

I am writing to see if anyone else reports what I saw this morning.  I live Northwest of the DFW metroplex and woke up around about 4:45 am this morning and looked out my east window to a very bright light in the east sky. It appeared as a large star, but seem to be moving.  I watched it a while thinking it might be a plane as it appeared to be moving very slowly, but couldn't decide on what it was. 

I finally went  and got a spotting scope to see it more clearly and was surprised to see it looked like a ball with multiple white lights and a line that moved through it.  It could also change shape, with one side of it becoming flat. I thought that maybe what I was seeing was caused by looking through my window, so I went outside only to see it, but it appeared the exact same way.  It would get very bright then fade, possibly due to light clouds?

It finally went out of sight  about 25 minutes later and appearing to head eastward.  If anyone else saw this I would be happy to know about it.  Can't explain it and thought someone else might report it to you.  It was at such a distance I did not think my camera would do any good, so I did not get a picture.  There may be a good explanation for this, but I can't figure it out.

Note:  From this witness's description, is it possible he saw a flying disc/saucer, making vertical/horizontal maneuvers?

Mailbag: Lights in the skies

Reports received by me via email, concerning lights in the sky:

Light in the sky; Stanley, NC, 6:45 a.m. January 7, 2011

That's so weird..... When I went outside to warm up my car this morning and smoke a cig..... I saw this huge, bright whitish blue light in the sky and it would fade slightly to a dull reddish undertone. This took place at approximately 6:45 am, in Stanley, NC. January 7, 2011.

Now I cant say that I believe that it was a UFO, but the size of the object was pretty substantial. I've never seen anything like it.

The object didn't zigzag. It took me smoking my whole cig to realize that it was moving.... very very slowly. I know it wasn't a plane or helicopter, because it far to large and bright to be anything like that.

I went inside and kinda put it in back of my mind, getting ready for my day. I loaded the fam in the car, as the sun was coming up and the large object was still in the sky. All the other stars faded with the dawn.

Thats when it peaked my curiosity, to see if anyone had seen what I seen.

......But your in Texas and I'm in NC, this whole experience is very strange

I saw the lights at 10:19pm in Alabama

There were 3 vessels. Here's how it went down:
  I live east of Birmingham, AL.  I had just gotten the kids in bed when I had this desire stir in my soul.  It nudged me to go outside and just sit in peace and watch the stars.  Rest (I am not the type of person that can sit still.  lol).  It was 10:05pm Central time when I grabbed my cell phone and a pair of binoculars and went outside.  I was standing in my driveway facing east, just gazing, binoculars on my neck.  I saw this giant fireball and i just watched it for a min cuz if it was meteorite it was gonna burn up faster than I could react.  Instead of burning up, it got bigger and bigger until I began to consider that I was gonna get wiped out by a giant meteor disintegrating on my house.  I was frightened and shocked.  I started digging through my brain, thinking of where I could scoop the kids to and go for safety.  Then I realized it was pointless cause we were all gonna be wiped away in moments. 

Then I remembered I had binoculars.  I had been so shocked, standing there unable to speak with my jaw dropped that I had forgotten I even had them.  I peered thru the binoculars and it just looked like a giant fireball.  I reached for my cell in my pocket to get video and it malfunctioned.  Would not go into camera mode.  Then when it did, it wasn't picking up what I was seeing. I heard a loud boom followed by rumbling and a high pitched pulsing noise.  Then it fell silent.  The fire was gone, and I saw the biggest object more visibly.  It hovered, slowly and silently.  I tried to rationalize what it could be.  I supposed at a glance from a window inside one could mistake it for a large...really large plane that looks like the space shuttle.  But outside, there was no sound.  Only vibration in the ground and a residual humming.  It was at a low altitude.  No plane has ever flown over my house so low.  It was headed from the East toward the West- from Atlanta toward Birmingham. I saw red blue and green lights that did not blink, but rather pulsated in strength from one side of object to the other.  It was almost iridescent.  On the bottom were gold colored lights that were constant.  So many I could not count. 

I checked the sky for airplanes, jets, bombers, anything.  I saw the biggest vessel now directly above my roof, and a smaller one with same light structure and hovering motion on starboard side of on the 1st, bigger vessel looking back.  There was another on the port side but trees blocked full vision of it, so I focused on the others.  They were hovering in triangle formation, and crept over the treeline behind my house as I tried to call a friend who lives where it would pass over next.  I ran in to get my HD video camera but it malfunctioned and wouldn't load the screen even though power was on.  I still felt vibration in the floors.  I went back outside and was able to call my friend but she did not answer.  That call took place at 10:28pm. 
 
I reviewed the footage and got great sound on the boom and high pitched humming noises. The video quality isn't great but I slowed down frame by frame and there are visible objects. 

What is going on?

Hello
This morning I saw a bright light in the sky at my apartments. It was big bright and moved slow like it was hovering. I saw a smaller light zigzag from it. I showed it to my neighbor and he is in the Air force and said he never saw anything like it I also showed it to my Daughter. I know it was not a star because it was moving and also it was east in the sky so it wasn't the north star. Not sure what it was.

It was at 6:20 this morning and it would get bright then dim but not twinkling like a star.

Here is a picture I took of the object on my phone. It's not very good but there is something there.

Washingtonville, NY- Huge ship passes overhead

Report:
I was standing in my kitchen facing east, talking with girlfriend and another couple over visiting. I feel and hear the humming sound go over my head heading east, im boggled, visiting girl suggests fighter planes, then i dont buy it. Run to front window (still humming noise loudly) and catch grayscale ship coloring underneath, white lighting on edges in 3-4 spots, solid and blinking, no other colors. Though star trek enterprise with the main part only, but a couple hundred feet wide thats all. Huge though.

Large craft approx 150-250ft wide if i had to guess, floated over my house heading Northeast, low altitude, 1000ft maybe ? At the highest. Then raised a little higher, made a swooping sideways left turn, could tell it was round or square shape, and headed north over the ridge out of sight. The largest and most convincing sighting ive had. I've seen small ones around here and there but this was insane. Several other small odd lights in the sky, but they are there often..

Hoping someone else sees of hears this thing, it was like a humming slash boat horn, very low alt, never seen anything like it. No time to go find camera i was speechless after i looked out the window, yelled for them to follow and ran outside as it had just passed overhead and was crossing my street.

i work security in downtown cleveland and i went outside to do my rounds and i looked up at the building and above the building and there were lights spining and then they stoped.i got pics of it this thing was triangle with 6 lights on it.so i called housekeeping down to see it and they ran back inside of the building.so then it took off and at 6:45am it was up there for about 20min.that whole night felt weird and my radio was making weird noises.thats my story what do u thank?

Milltown, Indiana- Patrol Officer reports UFO

On 1-1-2011 at about 9:50pm I was sitting in my patrol car in Milltown,IN when i noticed a bright orange light that was not flashing traveling west to east . I exited my vehicle and observed the orange light travel overhead at about 1000 feet this light did not flash and traveled at a moderate speed with no sound it was a clear cold night i could see other planes overhead with their lights flashing i was 45 minutes west of louisville, KY and plane traffic is common in my area. I observed this object for about 2 minutes i lost sight of it as it went west.

Summary:    Extremely bright flashing light that seemed to have three flash points seen on the county road that has never been there before and disappeared in thin air.

Report:
I was driving on Hwy 183 South exiting Goldthwaite when I topped a hill leaving the city limits. I was talking to my son on the cell phone when he said he saw something strange down our county road towards our house. It was a very bright flashing white light. When he said that I looked out my pickup window to the right and saw the light too from where I was on the highway but as I went down the hill I lost sight of it. He said it was still in front of him and flashing slowly.

I made him stop on the dirt road because he believed it to be not even a half of a mile ahead of him. I turned right on county road 411 and saw the flashing light again. It looked to be less than a mile away. My son was in his pickup two vehicles ahead of me, my husband was in his pickup between us as we headed down the dirt road toward the house.

I was still talking to my son about the light and how it was flashing strangely like it had three different flash points. The light would flash from left to right and then start at the left again. As we were driving down the road we watched it about a mile and a half down the road. It didn't move as if it were going up and down the hills of the road, in fact it did not appear to be moving forward on the ground. We never got any closer to it but it never really got any further away. I mean like the size of the light never seemed to get smaller or fade. And then it was gone. I thought I had lost sight of it due to the hills and valleys in the road. But when I topped the hill again where I knew I could see it, it was no where in sight.

If it had been an ordinary vehicle, I would have seen it from the top of the hill. If it had been an airplane we would not have lost sight of it because it would have still been in the air.

As far as I can tell it just disappeared.
