Soldier's account of 'Missing Time'

This is a recent report to MUFON by a U.S. Soldier who was stationed in Germany.  According to his account, he experienced missing time and 'displacement', being in one place and then suddenly realizing he is somewhere else.

This report has not yet been investigated.

OK... I know it has been some time since this happened however I have never forgotten this. My memory of every exact moment is gone but the biggest facts which make up this happening are too strange to forget.

I was in the US Army and stationed in the then country of West Germany. We were on field maneuvers, meaning we were living in the outdoors. One night I was told I had guard duty which called for me to be awake and walk a dirt road as my area of patrol.

I can't recall the exact date or even the month for that matter since we were often in the field. I can narrow it down to between Oct-1983 and the spring of 1984.

The night was extremely dark and I'm sure there was little to no moon light that night. I could not see much of anything so I had to look up at the treeline on either side of the dirt road to make sure I stayed in the middle of the road. I guess the area of the road I patrolled was between 50 to 75 yards long and I did NOT go to the end of the tree line I was using to make sure I was on the middle of the road. The treeline went on about 25 yards further.

I had only been on patrol for a short time... the next thing I knew was that I was coming to and walking but not moving because I was now face to face with a large row of what seemed to be bushes or hedges. I had no idea where I was or how I got there. I still could not see because of the dark. When I looked up I realized I was at the edge of a huge treeline that open up to some kind of field because I could see a lot of sky.

I had no idea where I was or what direction I had come from so I began walking in the open using the sky as a guide. I followed one tree line as I walked and found what I was hoping was the dirt road where I knew I had been before while on guard duty. It was difficult making it through the terrain because there were many things to trip over like rocks and holes and greenery. I fell once and almost fell several other times.

By using the sky I found a treeline that I prayed was the road I had been on patrol at. I walked down that road for some distance and eventually realized It was the road I needed to find. I found my vehicle and realized I was overdue for waking up the next guard. I woke him and sat in my vehicle wondering what had happened to me.

My wife knows this story but I don't remember much else. I can't account for the missing time or how I got where I wound up by the hedges far from my area. Many years have passed but this has always tugged at me for obvious reason. What was I supposed to say or do. I have no idea what happened.

I do not sleepwalk but 13 yrs later, while staying in a casino hotel room in NJ, I had a similar event where I came to and was standing in front of and elevator in nothing but undershorts. The elevator was on an upper floor in the hotel and by a large window overlooking the outside area.

Frantically I ran around and down a hallway and banged on what I hoped was our room, it was. My Wife was waken by my banging on the door. She had a hard time getting the door open due to the locks. Needless to say she was not happy I was in the hall in my underpants. I told her I did not know what happened. If I had slept walked then why did she have trouble opening the extra locks that can only be locked from inside?

Needless to say, I'd love to see if hypnosis could find the answers for these two events in my life. For me, I know something happened but don't have any memories of what. I'd like to know myself. I do NOT sleepwalk and even if I did there are some facts that just don't make sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Navy Veteran Witnesses Cylinder-Shaped UFO in Ft. Hood Restricted Airspace

Date: 10 June 2010 Early daylight sighting
Approx time: 7:45 - 8:00am

Personal background: Veteran, Navy Sonar Supervisor.Perform services as Simulation Tech Aviation since separation. Army installation Central Texas.
As a side note, I am surrounded by aviation and easily recognizable aircraft both day and night.

On the morning of 10 June I walked out of the building I work in to get get some air and reflect on the early morning chaotic activity. The only area that has doors and windows is the front area of this building. It has a approx. SW footprint when exiting the main entrance.

After I walked through and beyond the entrance from the building, I panned the surrounding area both ground and sky. As I turned and looked to NE ( more easterly ) I noticed a very bright star looking light. I found that odd because it seemed intensely bright. At first I thought an unusually clear bright morning star?? The building I work in has lighting rods around its outer perimeter. As I watched this bright light ( myself remaining stationary ) it had movement across the sky against the rod.

The sky was mostly clear. Some wispy broken cloud masses were visible. It had an appearance as a fixed wing aircraft on a approach pattern at night.
Very bight as it approached.

As I watch this aircraft/object travel from approx. NE to SW direction it became clear to me that this wasn't the usual aircraft seen around here.

I asked one of the personnel in the building to come out and look.  I point out the object to this person but because he is near sighted and was not wearing his classes he couldn't make out the details I was talking about. At this point is was about at an apex to our location.

This person cannot or will not collaborate this event.

This object remained on a straight and steady path for the duration.

Estimated size: C130 aircraft ( fuselage only )
Estimated altitude given visual conditions: 1500 - 4000 ft. AGL
Estimated speed: 300 - 500 kts
Appearance: cylinder, silver. No wings, no tail rudder, no propulsion sound,
no rotor and no propeller visible. Mid length it had what appeared to be windows or some type of black banding.

Conclusion by this witness: Based on that fact that this can be a high traffic area,I speculate that nobody else in the immediate area would expect to see or question what I witnessed/saw. Unless I ran running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

After all my years of hearing about these kinda things I am really stumped.

Austin Area UFO Reply- Sighting in Round Rock

I received a reply to Reader Reports UFO Sightings in Austin:

Hello, I read your post today and wanted to let you know i saw something in the sky in round rock tx, on 6-30-10.  I completed a report via the MUFON website  case number is 24133 if you want to look it up.  I also attached pictures to the case report. If you have a photo editing program I would download the pictures and zoom in.

The type of object I saw was extremely unusual and I have been unable to find much of any information on the type of object I saw in the sky that night (very frustrating). I asked someone what they thought the craft looked like and they said it had the shape of a stingray.  I agree.  Anyways I'm sure you would agree upon looking at the pictures for yourself. ( let me know what you think)

Report:
At first I thought I was looking at a radio tower.  As the object grew closer I ruled this out, the closer the object came I was more curious as I have never seen anything like this before in the sky.  The light patterns and color were also unfamiliar to me, the object had all red lights which would flash 1-2-1-2 and all five would light up at once. The object from the sort of looked like a cross as I passed the object, the side view looked different then from observing it head on.  Viewing the pictures it appeared to have a different shape upon driving passed the object. Overall I would say the event made me feel nervous.

Note:  From the photos it is hard to determine exactly what the object is, or the shape(s), however, it does not appear to be tower lights. 
I'd also add that there does appear to be movement, from frame to frame.
What this object is, I can't say.  At this point, I would classify it as a UFO.

Hi Sunny, I'm curious as to whether there will be any UFO reports from Austin tonight. From 9:15 to 9:25 PM (when I went back in the house), I saw several extremely dim red lights in the West. These are the same lights I see almost every non-cloudy night. Judging from their apparent elevation and appearance I think the lights are probably in the vicinity of Austin. Behavior is basically the same, stationary, then movement that seems to be at a fairly constant altitude relative to the earth, then stop and hover for a period of time, sometimes they return over the same flight path to original origin, sometimes they go in a different direction but the majority seem to return to the same specific place repeatedly. I would guess that the altitude is about the same as commercial traffic, the same area is the flight path from Houston to Austin. The numbers vary, sometimes one, sometimes more. I've never tried to count them. These lights are usually so far away I can't determine if they make any elevation changes during flight.

Last year in September I saw what might have been one of these machines up close at night, it came out of the west from the same general vicinity as described above, made a turn to my left which placed it about 1/4 mile away, made a right turn and came across directly in front of my position and stopped for a few seconds. Distance from me was about 200 yards due west and about 500 feet agl. I had the camera but just stood there, not scared but certainly not about to attract any more attention than necessary. After a few seconds the craft moved forward to my right, made a left turn, and went back where it came from. I estimate speed when approaching and returning to be about 2000-2500 mph, (about 5 seconds=60 to 80 miles).

All the lights were red and non-blinking, and the craft was definitely triangle shaped. Length was about 25-30 feet. There was no sound of any kind, and surprisingly no color change when the craft accelerated. A few days later, at 10:00 AM, I observed two delta wing craft and a white orb flying westbound at about 600 ft AGL. From my position was  Northwest 1/8 mile distant when first seen. Both aircraft were in formation, lead /trail and the orb was on their right about 300 feet away and 300 feet behind the trailing aircraft. No sound from these craft either.

The wings were unique, there were 3 scalloped sections deeper than the wing upper surface, the scallop sections went from the top of the fuselage to near the leading edge of the wing, and led back at more or less the same angle as the wing leading edge. They were so close initially I could only see the left wings and top of the fuselages. Neither of these craft had an opening on the rear as you would expect for jet exhaust, the trailing edge of the wing went straight across the back from side to side and there was no vertical stabilizer or any type of flight control device on the rear. Length of these craft was about 25-30 feet and were dull metallic in appearance. The orb was pure white and about 8-10 feet in diameter.  

Perhaps you can use this information in your endeavors.

A recent sighting and lifelong events for one man in Great Britain

In an email from a friend in Great Britain, he writes:


I had a UFO sighting here in England back in June.
I was attending a work conference in the city of Manchester and I was outside with 3 delegates, and we were looking towards this odd looking tower (we found out it was a guard tower for the local penitentiary Strangeways Prison. The object we observed was a small tan colored orb, it was flying upwards on an arch and the flashed super hot white and then sped off to the east where it vanished into a cloud bank. At arms length the object was roughly the size of a pencil eraser. So, this object was very large from the distance we viewed it.

One of the delegates did a quick figure and he plotted it to be around 300 feet in diameter.

The other sightings was while attending a reception during the conference at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester. I was chatting with a small group of international visitors and we looked out and watched this civilian airliner coming in for a landing at the city airport north of Manchester, to the east we observed this large cylinder shaped object which was highly reflective fly past the airliner heading south over the city, this object was shaped like an upside down gold brick. You could see the could reflection on the top of it as well as the reflection of the city from underneath. It flew off in a straight line and was visible for over 3 minutes.

I tried to get the company photographer to get a photo of it but it was long gone before he could change lens. The photographer did see it though. It was very big as well. It was the largest UFO I have ever seen in broad daylight.

Note: My friend, who wishes to remain anonymous for now, has had UFO sightings and encounters since he was a child.  Here is an account of one of those sightings, which took place in the U.S.

When I was 9 years old I remember playing in our back yard, and I and my brother and his two friends watched this object in the sky almost directly over us and it was really low, I would say close to 500 feet or less. This thing was about the size of a truck it was rectangular and was belching out some kind of exhaust plume. My brothers friend coined the term "Dark Fuzzies" for these UFOs, it would not be the last time I would see a "Fuzzy", as they would appear all through my younger life, always in broad day light and on cloud less days.

They not only watched me alone but in the company of my friends. Where ever we would play or ride our bikes, the "Fuzzy" would appear off in the distance and than come closer and just hang over head until we would see it and point and then it would dart away at a high speed, or even a flash at times.

My youngest sister was outside with me on one such summer day, I was sitting on the picnic table and she was with me and we were talking and listening to her transistor radio. Then above the apple tree, low and behold the "Fuzzy" was there hiding behind the tree. I saw it and got really excited and pointed it out to her, it was her first time seeing one and she immediately freaked out and ran in the house screaming at the top of her lungs to my Mom.

By the time they came out to look it had departed.

Rectangular object in sky over Galatia, IL

Summary:   spotted a square object in sky on my way to work   

Report:
I was on my way to work last night at about quarter to ten, my son spotted something in the sky, he said "mom...what is that?" I looked at what he was pointing at and it was a square shaped aircraft that had 4 blinking lights at each corner, in the center was a red solid light, it seemed to hover motionless in the sky, but it also seemed to be shifting from side to side. We watched this thing for about 5 minutes when it just DISAPPEARED into nowhere, now I am perplexed about this...I've never seen anything like this before. It was to the north of Galatia Illinois, probably at about 1500 ft. up in the air. There were no clouds in the sky.
