HELP BUILD THE TESLA MUSEUM

Nikola Tesla, Master of Lighting

At well over 6 feet tall, Nikola Tesla was a giant among men but he was so much more, he was the greatest inventor that ever lived.

When you flip a light swtich, use your computer, your phone, or listen to the radio, thank Tesla, not Thomas Edison!

Born 10 July 1856 in Smiljan, Austrian Empire (modern-day Croatia), Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, and futurist. What he is best known for, is his contributions to the modern alternating current (AC) electrical supply system we used today.  Tesla also demonstrated "wireless" energy transfer to power electronic devices, had patents in wireless communication and radio, including many revolutionary developments in the field of electromagnetism.

Tesla was a futurist, a scientist, a man with a dream.  He envisioned free, unlimited energy to light the world.  Well, if you know about Tesla, you know how that turned out.   U.S. Patent 645,576

Tesla's Wardenclyffe laboratory, Shoreham, New York.

Now here it is 2012 and an innovative young man by the the name of Matthew Inman of the Oatmeal.com, steps up and begins a campaign to raise money, in order to buy the site of Tesla's Wardenclyffe laboratory, located in Shoreham, New York.

In just one week the $850,000 goal was greatly exceeded but the campaign isn't over, not by a long shot.

Tesla died on January 7, 1943, destitute and alone.  All his great achievements were overshadowed and basically all but forgotten.  A museum is the least we can do, to give back to a man we owe so much to.
