Mailbag: "Ball Of Light" Creates Flash Near Waco.
A reader reports a Ball of Light and a flash that lights up his back yard:
Ball of Light
China Springs, Texas (North of Waco)
Date: Wednesday, August 31, 2011
Time 3:51 a.m.
At 3:51am I saw a very bright light in the eastern sky. It burned out very quickly.
At first I thought it was lightning because it lit up my yard for an instant. I heard no sounds.
The light was white and suddenly appeared like an explosion or like a light bulb when it burns out - getting brighter then it is gone.
It did not appear to be a meteorite or falling star.
