Sightings Reports for July 1 to 15, 2009
Date/Time: 2009-07-02 11:15
Location: Gainesviille, TX
Shape: Star-like
Distance: 1 mile to 500 ft. or less
Duration: 20-25 seconds
Witnesses: 2
Report:
Heading south towards Gainesville, two witnesses saw a very bright, very large slowly pulsing white light ahead of them at 10 degrees AGL (above ground level). The light blinked slowly, rhythmically. The light was a very large, extremely white and extremely bright single source white light. Object appeared to be larger than 50' feet across and only a few hundred feet off the ground. The object moved along the freeway, no faster than 100mph. As it flew past the witnesses going north, it's "altitude was at best 500 feet." However, as it passed overhead, the witness "opened the car window and could not see anything behind it and did not hear any noise beyond wind noise from the highway." Witness added, "There were trucks and cars on the road at the time. Nobody stopped."

Report:
"At Cedar Creek Lake on July 4 there was air show at Pinnacle Golf Club. Between 8 and 9 PM from the southeast a red light appeared on the horizon. It climbed fast then flew directly over us. It made no sound and was round-square with no wings. At least 15 adults saw it. No one knew what it was. The red light almost appeared like it was on fire. It was definitely orb-like. Was this a government plane? Their were people who new about aircraft and could identify all the planes and jets but were puzzled with this orb-like craft."

Report:
Witnesses state that they stepped outside to watch a storm come in.
"I went out on the front porch which has a fairly good view of the North. We like to watch storms roll in from there. It was still day light out and the clouds were fairly high and white at this point of the storm. Just after the first or second lightning flash went off I saw something through the trees. As it moved into view it moved at a steady flat pace just below the clouds. It was in view for about 20-25 seconds, long enough for me to grab my wife and run to the other side of the porch for her to see it before it was hidden by trees & clouds. I am not an aviation expert but I'll describe what I saw comparing it to common items seen in the area. Holding my thumb and forefinger out at arms length it was about 2 inches long. A Cessna plane that flies over frequently at a similar distance would be about a 1/4 inch or smaller. I was able to see it very clearly at first as it was below the clouds and I could see 2-3 lights in back and the same amount up front. I saw the body of the object fairly clearly; it was a pipe or a tube shape. The angle it was at, I'd expect to see wings or more of the object, but there were none. It is uncommon to have aircraft fly this low in the area and when they do, it is usually small private jets and Cesena type aircraft, all of which can be distinctly heard before being seen. This object made no noise and traveled at a speed (once again comparing to a Cessna), would be about 4-5 times the speed of a Cesena, possibly more. It's very hard to put a size/distance to it. As it moved across my line of sight, it entered the lowest parts of the clouds still fairly visible. The lights front and rear seemed to pulse, possibly flash, but it could have been because it was going through the translucent clouds. The lights were all white front and rear. It was traveling West to East approximately 5 miles North of Highway 80 and I saw it East of FM 450 travelling toward Marshall TX. The object I saw had 3 maybe 4 lights that appeared to be round, the number of them was not something I was paying attention to at the time. What I was trying to remember is that the space filled with lights was equal front &/or rear was approximately 1/3 the total distance of the object. At no time did I see any wings, or tail fins, or any other color of lights but white front and rear. That is about it, not sure what it was but it was nothing I have ever seen before."

Witness says, "I was outside of my house with my digital camera and got this footage when I aimed the camera up at the sky. The UFO movement was extremely fast and high in the sky so I used slow motion in this clip so it could be observed."

Report:
We were sitting in our backyard at approximately 10:32 PM. We saw an object in the distance appear to ascend from close to the ground and climb to about 5000 -10000 feet. The object was a yellow and red sphere that pulsated and changed colors and shape between yellow and red. It flew over our house silently and crossed the George Bush IAH westbound landing flight path. It pulsated and slowly flickered until it disappeared. We are 7 miles from the IAH airport flight tower. They should have it on radar.

Report:
The witness was on his motorcycle, heading North between Booker, TX and Elmwood, OK, at 11:30 p.m., July 11th 2009. "Off to my right or east, I noticed a bright light, which I thought was a planet I had sort-of identified earlier when I was headed east. It took me a second to realize that the light was brighter than the planet and to the north of the where the planet should have been and was. I checked my mirrors, and down the road in front of me for traffic, there was none so I looked to my right or east, and again looked at the object for a few seconds and realized it was moving across the star-field behind it. It looked like maybe a small airplane with a landing light on, by far the brightest thing in the sky, but the light was just a solid whitish light. It was headed what looked to be straight south, and it was a little north of straight east of me. It also appeared to be one to three miles from me and maybe less than a mile above ground level, don't know hard to tell. I am about half-way between Booker and the Oklahoma state line. I decide to stop to watch it, I'm not in a hurry and I guess it got me curious. I slow down and stop and as I am stopping in the road I notice the light has been getting brighter, just 10 or 15 seconds in this whole deal has elapsed now, and a lot is happening at the same time. This thing is getting very bright, like streetlight bright at about a block or two, I'm riding a motorcycle and trying to look up at the sky and trying to stop at the same time without getting run-over. Okay now for the good part. I have stopped in the road and between me getting stopped and glancing back and forth at the object this thing turns and accelerates. Dramatically. Unbelieveably fast. It goes what appears to be about a 45 degree angle up and maybe due south-east, so now its headed up and away from me, and it got so bright for an instant that it might have lit up the ground around the area. It looked like about half as fast as a shooting star would appear, super fast but watchable. It accelerated from what appeared to be about 150 mph., to maybe 50 thousandish mph or faster. Just guessing only, yes speculation. It stayed on the exact trajectory for about 15 seconds and I watched it until I had to look to each side of it to be able to see it. As it was dissappearing from my sight it appeared to be curving to the south a little, maybe a optical illusion, its possible the thing was now maybe satellite-high, or higher, thats what it looked like as it was dissappearing, maybe a dim satellite. There was a jet in the area that might halve seen this, north of me and headed west. The moon rose exactly as this was happening if you want a exact time. And as I was about to take off a south to north or north to south cant remember...shooting star went across the horizon directly where I was watching. thats it. This all seemed matter of fact to me even though its the weirdest-coolest thing i've ever seen. Thought i'd tell some-one who might be interested. thanks. p.s. had earplugs in and left bike running never heard anything. thanks."

Report:
"My daughter was riding her bike in Arlington , Texas. She was facing west and noticed the object high in the southern part of the western sky. It was black and the size of a pencil point. It was falling and then it became orange and began falling faster. It became orange with an orange tail and began falling very fast. It then became yellow and started flashing white at the nose. It was falling in front of the sunset and then turned black. It then fell below the tree line. She thinks it was at least as far away as Fort Worth (20 miles) or further. She thought it was a plane falling, but a plane crossed that area and it was bigger than a plane. Then she thought it was a meteor. She called me on her cell phone and told me about it. She was very excited. I have not seen anything about it on the news , maybe it will be on later."

"I noticed what I thought was a star in the sky. My balcony faces the north, the object was seen to the north east. The object seemed to be too bright to be a star and also too low in the sky. It did't seem to be moving though so I was content to believe it was a star. Then I saw intermittent flashes of light that were very bright and were not strobes. I decided to film it at this point, as soon as I started to film the object it started to move. It seemed to go up and to the right, growing dimmer as it went. It grew so dim that you couldn't see it anymore, then suddenly it lit back up to a very bright state. At first I thought the object was fading off into the horizon, but that was not the case as it had become so bright again. The motion was slow and smooth, it didn't make any quick movements. After moving up and to the right for 10 minutes it then reversed the path of its motion and started moving down and to the left. I observed the object for 30 minutes, when I went to sleep it was still there in the sky."

Report:
"I was observing the moon overhead and a nearby planet (Jupiter, I think) in the Western sky when I noticed a small (or very high) bright white star-like object moving West to East, in a straight line and silently, on roughly the same plane as the planet I was observing but below the moon and approximately 75 degrees above the horizon. I instantly identified it, based my personal observations and previous experiences, as a near-Earth orbiting object such as the shuttle that is currently in orbit or a satellite. After it had traversed about 3/4 of the viewable sky it made an instant 90 degree turn South and increased speed by at least 4-5 times it's original rate and disappeared behind the treeline. I felt very shocked and disoriented by the sudden course change as I had already dismissed it as a readily identifiable object. There is no question in my mind that this was not a meteor, conventional aircraft, satellite or terrestrial spacecraft. Nothing I know moves like that. The entire event encompassed no more than forty seconds, but I stood, staring at the sky, for several more minutes trying to comprehend or rationalize what I had just seen. It didn't work. It was my first sighting and although I always believed I wanted to see a UFO before this happened, I almost wish I had not seen it at all. It has fundamentally changed what I thought I knew about life and the universe around me and I will never again look into the night sky without thinking about this event. OK, I believe now."

Report:
At Cedar Creek Lake friends & me on a boat dock on July 4th before sundown. About 8:30PM watching fireworks, then we seen at the end of the cove coming into view from over the east tree line about one-forth of a mile away was this non-winged smooth looking perfect sphere shaped object guessing about 25 to 30 feet in diameter that was non-shiny light gray in color & looking to be flames pulsing downward from the bottom of the object.
The object was flying east to west over the cove at a low rate of speed guessing about 40mph then as it started to get over the west bank of the cove at a steady hight it then accelerated at a quick rate guessing about 100mph+.
There was at least 6 to 10 Adults that seen this. None of us never seen anything like that before. Was not a hot air balloon from how perfect the shape was of a ball or sphere & the changing of the speed & downward facing pulsing from what looking to be flames.
