A reader reports:
I spotted one orange ball in the sky this morning at 01:10 am over Georgetown, TX it paused for a second then dropped down a little and then shot north westerly and disappeared instantly. It was not normal and I have grown up around aviators and military bases-- it was not typical. It got my attention.

Did something crash in the Ottawa River?
By JON WILLING & DON WILCOX, Sun Media
OTTAWA - What crashed in to the Ottawa River at about 10 p.m. on Monday? That is the question rescue services are trying to answer this morning as they search a stretch of water near the Deschenes Rapids.
Dozens of witnesses are reporting they saw lights and heard a loud bang, or other noises, at about 10 p.m. Some thought it might be a small plane crashing. Others wonder if it was just fireworks. One witness speculates it could have been a meteorite.
Their calls sent emergency crews from Ottawa and Gatineau racing to the area, and sparked a search which lasted several hours before being called off. This morning, crews are back on the river, including a search and rescue chopper from CFB Trenton.
"We heard a very loud sound, the first time I heard something that loud," said Lola Saadi, who lives in Parkway Towers not far from the river edge.
Police said their original reports were that something appeared to be hitting the water just before 10 p.m. in the area of the Ottawa River Parkway near the Britannia Yacht Club and the Deschenes Rapids.
A search crew Monday night spotted something in the water and police Tuesday were investigating to see if it was anything significant. Otherwise, there is no physical evidence of an aircraft crash.
Const. Alain Boucher, spokesman for Ottawa police, said there were enough credible reports to send rescue and recovery resources to the river.
Just before noon Wednesday, police were preparing to send out sonar equipment. The river in the area is between four feet and about 23 feet.
This morning fire department boats, as well as the Ottawa police marine unit, joined by Gatineau police, are involved in the search. Ottawa police weren't sure if they would be able to send divers in because the current might be too strong. Officers do have an underwater camera on the boat.
Other witnesses offered varying thoughts about what they saw and heard.
"Around 10 p.m. I heard a noise sounded like a loud bang," said Bill Fung, who lives along McEwen St. overlooking the Ottawa River Parkway. "My roommate said that could be an explosion from fireworks."
"I too heard a very loud bang preceded by a brief whistling noise which made me think, at first, that it was fireworks," said Jeffrey Vachon, who lives near the river in Aylmer. "However, I strongly suspect that what occurred was not a plane crash but rather a meteroite hitting somewhere near the Deschenes Rapids/Ottawa River area."
He said the noises were so loud it sounded "as if it happened next door from my home."
Paramedics at the scene last night during the first search said they had multiple eyewitnesses report they heard a big bang and saw an explosion over the water.

Into the Storm
July 28, 8:15 p.m. There was a storm approaching from the Southwest and the cloud tops were magnificent. I could see rain and lightning to my WSW. I decided to grab my little Sony digital camera and take a few shots and some video, hoping to catch the lightning. What showed up in 2 of the stills is a mystery. Also, what showed up in 2 of the video shots is also questionable. One is most likely a bird but the other is just plain baffling. This is especially so, since I was watching the sky and not the camera view screen. I never saw anything but clouds and didn't hear anything unusual.

While I took the shots, some pics blurred. I had set the camera on auto and the camera would refuse to focus, then it just shut off. I checked and still had half a charge on the battery but every other time I'd turn the camera on and point it at the sky, it would switch off.
My spouse called me 15 minutes later from the west end of town, saying that it was pouring down rain, with pea to marble sized hail. I could hear the clatter in the background as we spoke. Moments later the rain reached our home, so my picture taking came to an end.

The Face of an Alien Child
Aside from working on Lights in the Texas Sky, I enjoy reading the articles over on Phantoms and Monsters and one particular article caught my attention. It concerned a video that was sent to P&M, from a man named Paul in Perth, Australia. Paul seems to be having quite a time of it, with orbs, entities and other phenomena.
A still photo of an orb with a face intrigued me to the point that I had to save and enhance it, just to see what it really is. My years of experience as an artist and photo facial reconstruction told me that this was real and I needed to do more.
I enhanced the image and sent it to P&M. Lon was kind enough to post my work but I couldn't stop there. I had to go further and see the face as it is meant to be, how it really is. I used data from the original orb photo, to reconstruct the features. It also helps being an 'intuitive'.
I told Lon:
"I used the data from the original still photo to create what I think the 'orb face' might look like, as a biological entity. If I were to guess, the entity would most likely be female and it definitely has underlying feline characteristics."
According to Lon's post, "a psychic friend looked at the original image last evening and stated that she strongly felt it to be the face of a female child. I did not relay any information to the artist before she rendered the image...Lon"
Lon didn't tell me that and I'm glad he didn't.
What I didn't tell Lon, was that I already knew it was an immature female.
Could this be the face of a spirit, an alien, or a trans-dimensional being? Judge for yourself.

LRO Sees Apollo Landing Sites - 07.17.09
Quote:
"NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO, has returned its first imagery of the Apollo moon landing sites. The pictures show the Apollo missions' lunar module descent stages sitting on the moon's surface, as long shadows from a low sun angle make the modules' locations evident. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera, or LROC, was able to image five of the six Apollo sites, with the remaining Apollo 12 site expected to be photographed in the coming weeks. The satellite reached lunar orbit June 23 and captured the Apollo sites between July 11 and 15. Though it had been expected that LRO would be able to resolve the remnants of the Apollo mission, these first images came before the spacecraft reached its final mapping orbit. Future LROC images from these sites will have two to three times greater resolution."
Do you think possibly this will quiet the conspiracy theorists? Probably not.

Possible UFO Shot Down at Ft. Lewis, Washington?
When I saw this sightings report, I found it to be of great interest to me. I was at Ft. Lewis, Washington back in the early 1970s and that is where one of my children was born, at Madigan Army Medical Center. At that time we lived not far from the back entrance to Ft. Lewis, in a quite residential area. During our short stay there, we could hear artillery fire during troop exercises but never at night.
This unusual report brought back memories of a time, long ago, though I never saw any UFOs there. According to the report given to MUFON on the 12th of July, 2009, the sighting took place in Spanaway, WA at 01:41 hours, the morning of Friday, the 10th of July, 2009. Here is that report as it was written and in it's entirety:
"On 7/10/2009 I my husband and I went to bed around 1:30 am we were in bed for a few minutes and we heard a weird dat dat dat noise that was substantially loud, we live off of Fort Lewis and are used to the noise associated with the fort but in 9 years I have NEVER had them randomly start shooting off at 1-2 in the morning. I got up and looked out the window to try and put an object to the noise (was it a horse caught in a fence or kicking at a barn wall, fire works? what was it) I didn't see anything so I went back to bed about 1-2 minutes later we heard it again but this time their were three different rounds of ammunition so my husband got up and looked out the window and said it was coming from Fort Lewis, he went back to bed a minute later it went off again and I got out of bed and my husband got out of bed we went to two different windows and looked outside, I had to view that was pointing to the Fort I saw "tracers" from the ammunition that was being shot from Fort Lewis, I thought that was odd, again in 9 year I have NEVER seen tracers off of ammunition from the fort. I continued to look outside and saw a blue spherical ball of light in the sky darting around and zig zagging through the sky it was very apparent that someone (weather it was Fort Lewis or a private party I don't know) was trying to "shoot down" this thing from the sky. The object was in the sky for about 10 seconds (that I saw) and it disappeared, just vanished once it was gone the shots stopped and we didn't hear anything for the rest of the night. In the morning I went to work (traveling North bound on 8th ave s) and as I drove by Fort Lewis I saw they had large wooden crates (7x7x5) with large yellow WARRNING signs tapped to the front of them that they were loading up onto army truck I don't know if this has anything to do with "someone" trying to shoot down the bouncy ball of light or not but found it to be odd."

Great Balls of Fire! and the ISS
The 4th of July holiday has seen a drastic rise in UFO sightings, mainly due to so many people out over the weekend, watching fireworks. With so many people outside looking up, a few are bound to see something that they can't identify.
There has been an increase in orb sightings. They range from golden to orange and red, appearing to be glass spheres with flames inside, to solid balls of light, or disk shaped. Reports have mainly come in from the Northeastern part of the U.S., but anomalies of this type have been reported from all over the U.S. (including Texas), Canada, Great Britain and many other countries.
A number of people have also reported the International Space Station on it's orbital track across the lower 48. I, myself viewed and videoed the ISS on July 6th, 2009. My mate and I witnessed 2 objects tagging along.
I assumed that the trailing object was the Progress 33P, a supply module that delivered it's payload, was loaded with refuse and un-docked. Instead of burning up in Earth's atmosphere now, Progress 33P is scheduled to re-rendezvous with the ISS on July 12th, in order to test an as of yet untested docking port. So for now, it's tagging along about 1000 miles behind.
I changed my mind on that assumption when the trailing object broke away from it's course behind the ISS, stopped, then headed in a southeasterly direction. The "stopping part" is why I dismissed it as a commercial jet. In the meantime, my mate was watching a pulsing light that "led point" ahead of the ISS.
A number of people have reported seeing close to the same thing we did, yet some have seen the International space station and thought it was a UFO. If you aren't sure what you're seeing and it's possible you could be seeing the ISS, check out this tracking sight and it will give dates, times and locations where the International Space Station can be viewed.
For Texas listings.
For other states, or countries.
Keep your eyes on the skies. You never know, you could be the one that breaks this mystery wide open.
